Overview Colliers Engineering & Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Surveying, CT P.C., a subsidiary of Colliers Engineering & Design, Inc., is seeking a Design Technician III (Senior CADD Designer) to work in our Southfield, MI office. Responsibilities This position operates at all times under the supervision of a Civil Engineer and is subject to the engineer's approval. Day-to-day responsibilities include the following: Prepare sets of engineering plans under the supervision of a Civil Engineer Determine drainage areas Calculations include, but not limited to drainage areas, impervious coverage calculations, quantity takeoffs and prepare cost/bond estimates. Prepare grading plans/grade site areas with parameters provided and limited guidance. Prepare basic utility layouts, grading plans and grade site areas, and storm design with parameters provided and minimal guidance. Attend project kickoff meetings. Perform Quality Assurance/Quality Control checks on plans. Set up plan projects sheets in CADD using Company standards templates. Prepare advanced grading plans/grade site areas with parameters provided, under the supervision of a civil engineer. Prepare advanced utility layouts with parameters provided, under the supervision of a civil engineer. Prepare advanced storm design layouts with parameters provided, under the supervision of a civil engineer. Perform advanced Earthwork Calculations. Prepare advanced utility layouts, grading plans and grade site areas, and storm design with parameters provided, under the supervision of a civil engineer. Qualifications Requires 6 years of experience in Civil Engineering Technician roles which must include 6 years of experience with preparing full sets of civil engineering plans from start to finish, determining drainage areas, performing coverage calculations, quantity takeoffs, and cost/ bond estimates; preparing grading plans and grade site areas with parameters provided; preparing basic utility layouts, grading plans and grade site areas as well as storm designs with parameters provided; performing QA/QC checks on plans; setting up plan project sheets in CADD; performing earthwork calculations and preparing advanced utility layouts, grading plans and grade site areas as well as storm designs with parameters provided.
