Overview Lutron is seeking a seasoned engineering leader with deep expertise on mechanical design, architecture and manufacturability who is passionate about teaching the craft of engineering to junior and mid-career engineers as they create world-class, smart lighting and lighting control systems. In this position, you will help to systematically upgrade Lutron engineers’ ability to solve hard, cross-disciplinary problems and you will share your knowledge and experiences through hands on mentorship, coaching and demonstration. This role blends deep technical excellence with rigorous quality thinking and practical strategies for developing and deploying operational capabilities. This pivotal role brings hands on, pragmatic experience to the holistic development of our engineers in a real-world product development environment. Responsibilities Teach the C raft : Provide practical coaching by working closely with engineering teams and product managers throughout every stage of the product lifecycle, offering hands-on guidance and fostering learning during project work. Build Durable Capability : Capture and codify best practices into playbooks, methodology and short courses. Mentor at S cale : Establish apprenticeship models and partner with project teams to guide through doing. Elevate P roblem S olving : Facilitate critical thinking on ambiguous, high-impact problems. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in M echanical Engineering , M anufacturing E ngineering or equivalent degree Minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.00 for all degrees earned 2 5 + years of experience designing, developing and shipping physical products with experience driving multi-disciplinary problem solving Desired Characteristics A c ritical thinker & communicator with a structured approach to problem solving A pragmatic quality & producibility mindset with the ability to translate into teachable practices A c ontinuous learner with desire to keep current on technical trends relevant to their field A mentor and thought leader for junior and mid-career engineers through coaching, teaching, and hands-on technical guidance Lutron Electronics’ position as the worldwide leader in innovative lighting control and shading solutions has enabled consistent, annual growth.
