Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a skilled GCP DevOps Engineer to design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise applications. This role is vital in automating deployment pipelines, optimizing cloud resources, and maintaining system resilience. The candidate will work closely with development, security, and platform teams to ensure high availability, performance, and compliance of cloud-native solutions supporting digital transformation initiatives.
Software Requirements
Required:
Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including services like GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), and Cloud IAM
Experience building and managing Kubernetes clusters (GKE) and containerized workloads with Docker
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell for automation and configuration management
Practical knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Cloud Deployment Manager
Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Cloud Build
Monitoring and logging expertise using GCP Monitoring, Cloud Logging, or other tools like Prometheus and Grafana
Strong understanding of network security configurations, encryption, and compliance standards (such as PCI DSS, GDPR)
Preferred:
Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud environments supporting multi-region architectures
Knowledge of service mesh frameworks and traffic management solutions
Familiarity with cloud security best practices and threat detection tools
Overall Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise applications and services
Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and update processes for rapid, reliable delivery
Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to support cloud-native application support and security standards
Optimize system performance, resource utilization, and costs through capacity planning and automation
Manage incident response and troubleshoot system issues proactively to ensure high availability and resilience
Enforce cloud security, policy compliance, and data privacy standards across environments
Drive continuous improvement by evaluating emerging cloud features and implementing best practices
Maintain documentation including architecture diagrams, deployment procedures, and operational runbooks
Technical Skills (By Category)
Cloud Platforms:
Required: GCP (basic to advanced support of services like GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, IAM)
Preferred: AWS, Azure integrations supporting hybrid/multi-cloud strategies
Containerization & Orchestration:
Docker containers, GKE/Kubernetes clusters, Helm charts
Automation & Infrastructure as Code:
Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager, scripting in Bash/Python for automation tasks
Monitoring & Logging:
GCP Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Prometheus, Grafana, or Dynatrace
Networking & Security:
VPC, firewall rules, encryption, IAM roles, security policies compliant with enterprise standards
Experience Requirements
5+ years in cloud infrastructure support, automation, and cloud deployment best practices
Proven experience designing, deploying, and managing large-scale, high-availability cloud environments
Hands-on experience supporting multi-region, hybrid cloud architectures (preferred)
Demonstrated success in automating infrastructure, incident management, and security configurations
Industry experience supporting regulated environments such as finance or healthcare is preferred but not mandatory
Day-to-Day Activities
Design, implement, and optimize cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise applications
Automate deployment, scaling, and configuration tasks for cloud environments
Support application deployment pipelines supporting CI/CD practices
Troubleshoot performance or security issues proactively and resolve incidents quickly
Collaborate with development, security, and platform teams on architectural improvements
Monitor cloud systems, generate operational reports, and enforce compliance standards
Maintain documentation detailing architecture, configuration, and operational procedures
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines
5+ years supporting cloud infrastructure, automation, and deployment in enterprise environments
Certifications such as GCP Professional Cloud Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, or Azure Solutions Architect are preferred
Demonstrable experience supporting large-scale, compliant cloud implementations supporting critical business operations
