Rotating ShiftDescription:
Responsible for management and coordination of safe and effective use of pharmaceuticals through their proper storage, handling, evaluation, preparation, compounding, labeling and dispensing in conjunction with state and federal regulations and departmental policies in the areas they oversee. Maintains proper records, documentation and provides complete communication as appropriate. Follows department guidelines with regard to clinical interventions and provides drug information as required and/or requested and helps ensure staff is doing the same. Provides daily supervision to pharmacy technicians. Assists Manager in daily workflow and organization of department in order to ensure efficient operations.
What you will do
Verifies all orders using resources and clinical judgement for proper product, dose and regimen, potential drug-drug interactions/incompatibilities, patient allergies/ADRs and pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics principles
Dispenses medications for inpatient and outpatient use in the hospital
Supervises pharmacy technicians by adjusting staffing as needed, assigning duties, checking all technician-filled orders/ Pyxis fills, maintaining efficient workflow
Provides insight recruitment and hiring process, disciplinary actions and staff evaluations
Precepts pharmacy students and residents by developing an active, supportive teaching relationship
Minimum Qualifications
BS Pharmacy degree, Pharm D preferred
Board certified preferred
CT Pharmacist license
1+ years Hospital experience required
Position Highlights and Benefits
