POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking eight (8) highly skilled and dependable Lead Commercial HVAC Service Technicians to join our team to help support a large commercial service project in Tampa, FL. This position is responsible for independently installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems in accordance with company standards and local building codes. This role is intended for an experienced technician who can be relied upon to handle complex service work with minimal oversight. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Independently diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems including RTUs, chillers, boilers, VAV systems, and split systems.
- Handle complex and high-level troubleshooting and service calls.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled, ensuring work meets company and customer standards.
- Use tools such as multimeters, refrigerant gauges, and leak detectors to accurately test and troubleshoot systems.
- Evaluate system performance and make repair or replacement recommendations as needed.
- Complete detailed and accurate work orders and service reports using field management software.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with dispatch, customers, and internal staff.
- Follow OSHA and company safety protocols at all times.
- Maintain company vehicle and equipment in a clean and professional manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Extensive experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial HVAC systems including RTUs, chillers, boilers, VAV systems, and split systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage service calls from start to finish.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, refrigerant gauges, and leak detectors.
- Experience completing service documentation using field management software.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and professional standards.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Working knowledge of BMS/BAS systems
- Refrigeration or low-temperature system repair experience
- NATE certification or other industry certifications are a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Comfortable working in tight or elevated spaces
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions
