OVERVIEW
The Studio Operations Intern will be a part of the CNBC Studio technical production team in APAC that outputs daily live TV news programs watched by millions of viewers worldwide. You will be trained and guided by experienced Studio Directors to operate equipment in a studio and control room effectively. You will be able to experience and participate in both CNBC’s live and pre-recorded TV news programmes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Setup studio ancillary equipment in preparation for daily live TV news production
Perform live TV audio mixing using professional broadcast sound mixer
Operate up to 8 robotic cameras and a Jib
Work closely with Studio Directors and learn how to setup and conceptualize camera shots and angles
Setup anchors, correspondents, reporters and guests with microphones and in-ear-monitors before they go on-air
Learn to troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance of studio equipment
Pick up floor managing skills through observation of how Studio Directors manage studio floor operations – coordinating with talents, guests, studio equipment, relaying cues between talents on the floor and control room
Collaborate and provide technical production support to News Editorial and Operations teams
Opportunities to participate in CNBC outdoor broadcast news coverage and events, on ad-hoc basis, as requested
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
A desire and passion to learn new skills in broadcast media production environment
Team player who can work independently and collaboratively with colleagues from different teams
Ability to adapt to new environments and pick up new knowledge/skills quickly
Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills to interact with colleagues and external guests professionally
Ability to work under pressure in live television broadcast environment
Meticulous with a keen eye for details
Efficient multitasker
Flexibility in working shift hours
Completion of a studio operations/management or filming module would be advantageous
Able to commit to the internship from 18 September 2026 to 26 February 2027
