POSITION SUMMARY:
The Reinsurance Management position will act as a key contact for internal and external queries related to reinsurance on both Life and Annuity products while managing a small team. This position will coordinate and interact internally including product development, sales/marketing, corporate actuarial, legal, new business operations and senior management. External interactions include our third party reinsurance partners, external reinsurers and key stakeholders. Position is being considered to join our Des Moines, or Boston office.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze financial impact of changes in reinsurance coverage and retention
- Oversight of work effort performed by the reinsurance TPA and internal modeling team
- Organize and present to internal committees and senior management ongoing program performance and potential strategic management decisions
- Strong people skills, including team management and external relationship management
- Provide product and system expertise related to reinsurance for all areas of the company and our reinsurance third party administrator (TPA)
- Respond to escalated issues relating to reinsurance pricing, implementation or queries
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Exposure to reinsurance and/or actuarial background required. At least five (5+) years of financial services industry experience is required
- Experience with life and annuity product features is preferred
- A “go getter” mentality, taking initiative and suggesting a course of action independently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical information to non-technical audiences
This is the expected annual base salary range for this Boston-based position. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
Base Salary Range $99,500 - $189,600
