Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead Painter to oversee and execute high-quality painting projects in Savannah, GA. This role requires a hands-on leader who works with a high level of autonomy, demonstrates strong decision-making skills, and provides day-to-day leadership to painting crews while ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise painting crews on residential, commercial, or industrial projects
- Perform painting, surface preparation, coating application, and finishing work to high standards
- Make on-site decisions related to workflow, materials, and problem resolution
- Assign tasks, provide direction, and ensure work is completed efficiently and accurately
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with specifications
- Ensure adherence to safety policies, OSHA standards, and proper use of PPE
- Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, or clients as needed
- Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in good working condition
- Train and mentor team members, promoting best practices and continuous improvement
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Lead Painter or senior-level painter- minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Thorough knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and surface preparation
- Ability to read and interpret job scopes, work orders, or specifications
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience overseeing multiple job sites or crews
- Knowledge of safety regulations and job-site compliance
- Prior experience training or mentoring painters
