Job description
Dispensary duties in the Main Pharmacy including medication order and profile review and entry into Meditech Expanse Pharmacy module, checking responsibilities, trouble-shooting clinical & drug distribution issues, & acting as a resource for Pharmacy Technicians & Students. As staffing situations require, provide back-up coverage for staff on a variety of patient care units and departments including decentralized medication order and profile review and problem investigation, medication reconciliation and resolution and liaison responsibilities. Based at Oakville but will include remote coverage of other sites on nights, evenings & weekend shifts. Other duties as assigned.

- B.Sc. Phm required
- Licensed under Part A of the Ontario College of Pharmacists register required
- Hospital pharmacy residency or equivalent acute care clinical experience preferred
- Demonstrated clinical pharmacy experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred
- Proficiency with CPOE (Computerized Physician Order Entry) system (e.g., Meditech Expanse or EPIC) preferred
- Advanced knowledge of medication therapy management and clinical decision-making
- Competency in medication order review, clinical assessment, and therapeutic recommendations
- Aseptic technique and dispensing skills
- Demonstrated high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent clinical problem recognition and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs
- Able to manage multiple clinical responsibilities with competing priorities in a fast-paced acute care environment
- Well-organized, self-directed, able to set priorities and manage time effectively
- Able to interact patiently, effectively, and professionally with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, physicians, and patients
- Committed to clinical excellence, patient safety, and evidence-based practice
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to meet the physical demands of the position
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record required
Status: Temporary Casual (Approx. 12 months)
Positions available: 2 positions
Hours: Monday to Sunday - Various rotating 7.5 hour shifts (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)
Salary: $50.766 to $67.950 per hour
