Cybersecurity Engineer II (Cybersecurity)

ABOUT THE POSITION 

The "P2 – Cybersecurity Engineer" is a mid-level position responsible for implementing and maintaining security technologies, monitoring systems for threats, and supporting compliance and risk management activities. This role contributes to secure application deployments, assists in incident response, and develops automation to improve operational efficiency. Working with moderate supervision, the engineer collaborates across teams to strengthen the organization’s security posture while continuing to build technical depth and experience.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE 

• Implements and maintains information security technologies to protect systems and data, with guidance from senior engineers.
• Monitors and analyzes security alerts and logs to identify potential threats and escalate as needed.
• Participates in the development and refinement of automation scripts to improve security operations.
• Maintains documentation for security tools, procedures, and incident response activities.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure security requirements are understood and implemented.
• Contributes to the development of metrics and reporting for security operations and compliance.
• Stays current with emerging threats and technologies through training and research.
• Performs other duties as assigned, with increasing autonomy and technical depth.

YOU HAVE

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, or related field (Security+ or equivalent; CISM is a plus but not required)
• A minimum of 2-5 years of professional experience and strong competency with the various tools, systems, or procedures required to accomplish the job.
• Solid understanding of network and endpoint security.
• Hands-on experience with EDR or endpoint protection platforms
• Basic scripting (Python, PowerShell) for automation.
• Working knowledge of NIST CSF, ISO 27001.
