Job description
Define and implement automated test strategies and the infrastructure to support them in a manner that enables all team members to contribute to releasing quality software. Execute and monitor results and troubleshoot both automated and manual tests.
*Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from the Red Hat, LLC office in Boston, MA.
What You Will Do:
- Collaborate with Software Quality team members outside the immediate team to work toward an integrated testing strategy with best possible coverage and resulting quality.
- Analyze source code and work with developers to propose appropriate test approaches for all parts of our software, including providing feedback on how to make our code more test friendly.
- Explore novel approaches to testing RHEL AI software, focusing on all aspects ranging from usability, unwanted behaviors to performance and scalability.
- Develop and work on the design of test automation frameworks and tools and their integration with the development workflow.
- Provide regular progress updates to various project stakeholders, such as other Red Hat AI Engineering teams, product managers and management. Participate in upstream AI/ML communities with a focus on learning more about the various technologies and how they might be used within our offerings.
- Working on ML frameworks, including LLM inference engine such as vLLM, Instructlab & PyTorch and LLM models Granite, llama-stack, and HF Models.
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related role.
- Must have five (5) years of experience with: Python, requirement analysis, traceability matrix development, and end-to-end quality assurance; and scripting and creating automation using Python and Bash.
- Must have three (3) years of experience with automation in GitHub/GitLab. Must have two (2) years of experience with: container technologies; and DevOps methodologies, scrum and tools.
- Must have one (1) year of experience contributing and collaborating with upstream open-source communities, focusing on code contributions, reviews, and alignment with community standards.

The salary range for this position is $178,131 - $198,630/ year. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.
Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
