The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Construction Technical Manager to support the safe, efficient and high‑quality delivery of infrastructure projects within a client‑side environment. This role is ideally suited to professionals with a strong background in construction, civil works or plumbing, who have worked on large‑scale infrastructure programs for tier‑one contractors or engineering consultancies.

You will provide technical leadership and construction oversight across multiple projects, working closely with project managers, designers, contractors and client stakeholders to resolve construction challenges, manage risk and ensure delivery outcomes are achieved.

Success in this role will rely on your ability to apply hands‑on construction experience, exercise sound judgement, and influence outcomes across planning, construction, commissioning and completion phases.

As a key member of this team, you will be required to:

  • Provide technical leadership and construction oversight across a portfolio of infrastructure projects
  • Support optimal construction delivery outcomes across safety, quality, cost and schedule
  • Identify and resolve technical and constructability issues during construction and commissioning
  • Review construction activities against program schedules and reported progress
  • Support project and contract management activities, including approvals, plans and documentation
  • Contribute to risk identification, mitigation strategies and value‑adding innovation
  • Monitor contractor performance and compliance with WHS, environmental and quality requirements

Who are you?

To succeed in this opportunity the skills and experience required are:

  • A strong background in construction, plumbing, civil or related infrastructure disciplines
  • Experience delivering large‑scale infrastructure projects with tier‑one contractors or consultancies (e.g. major transport, utilities, water or civil programs)
  • Demonstrated understanding of construction methods, sequencing, constructability and site operations
  • Strong knowledge of WHS, environmental and quality assurance requirements
  • Ability to engage effectively with contractors, designers, project managers and client stakeholders
