Job description

Liquid Personnel is recruiting Adult Social Worker for its client's Locality Team at Gloucestershire. Our Social Workers must be able to listen hard to the people of Gloucestershire, to understand what really matters and to connect them to resources that help them continue with their chosen life, either with support or independently. You will also be working with individuals to help them to regain control of their lives in a crisis. Our client uses the Three Conversation approach, a model that re-emphasises focus on people, their strengths and the networks and community around them.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • We are looking for a Social Worker with experience of working in Adult Social Care, including Court of Protection work.
  • They must be able to respond to crises and conduct visits in the Gloucestershire area.
  • Must be available for visits in Tewkesbury every day, will work from the office 3 days a week; will need to do safeguarding front door hub work.

    Skills:

  • An understanding of statutory social work, including current issues and new evidence–informed practice research.
  • A sound understanding and application of legislative frameworks underpinning adult social care, for example the Care Act, the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and the Human Rights Act.
  • A critical knowledge of the range of theories and models for social work intervention.
  • Ensure a high level of confidentiality is maintained for individuals, their carers and families and to manage the security of information.
  • Ability to communicate with compassion and authority in challenging situations, and able to understand and work effectively with negative and rejecting responses.
  • Ability to write accurate, timely and effective records.
  • Ability to exercise individual judgement.
  • Ability to manage complex workloads independently and seek support where and when appropriate.

Qualifications & Experience:

To be successful in this role you must have,

  • Professional Qualification: A recognised professional qualification in social work, such as an MA, BA, BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work, or CQSW (Certificate of Qualification in Social Work).
  • Registration: Must be registered with Social Work England, the regulatory body for social workers in England.
  • Experience: 2+ years post qualified experience as an adult social worker in a statutory setting.
  • Knowledge of Legislation: Thorough understanding of relevant legislation, such as the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
  • Skills: Strong assessment and analysis skills, as well as the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence and access to a car are often required for client visits.
