Job description
We are seeking a highly motivated Azure Data & Fabric Developer to design, develop, and maintain our cloud-based data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with Azure services, a strong focus on Microsoft Fabric, and proficiency in building end-to-end data solutions—from ingestion and transformation to storage, modeling, and visualization. You will play a key role in enabling data-driven decision-making across the company.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Development: Design, build, and deploy scalable and efficient data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data models within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, with a primary focus on Microsoft Fabric.Data Ingestion & Integration: Develop pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Fabric Pipelines to ingest data from various internal and external sources (on-premise SQL, APIs, cloud storage, etc.).Data Transformation: Use Fabric Dataflows (Gen2) and Spark Jobs (Spark SQL, PySpark, Scala) within Fabric notebooks to cleanse, transform, and enrich data according to business requirements.Data Storage & Warehousing: Manage and optimize data storage in Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), and most importantly, within the Microsoft Fabric OneLake. Design, build, and maintain the Fabric Data Warehouse for structured analytics.Database Management: Develop, maintain, and optimize relational databases using Azure PostgreSQL or Azure SQL Server, ensuring high performance, security, and availability.Reporting & Analytics: Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to develop interactive and insightful reports and dashboards using Power BI. Implement and manage Power BI datasets, dataflows, and reports.Performance Optimization: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines, Spark jobs, and data warehouse queries for performance and cost-effectiveness.DevOps & CI/CD: Implement and adhere to best practices for version control (Git), continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD) for data solutions using Azure DevOps.Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, business intelligence analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver integrated solutions.Required Qualifications & SkillsExperience: 8 to 9 years of professional experience in data engineering, ETL development, or a similar role.Cloud Platform: Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data services.Microsoft Fabric (Core Requirement): Demonstrable experience with Microsoft Fabric, including:OneLake: Understanding of the unified data lake structure and managing data within it.Data Warehouse: Experience in building and managing the SQL analytics endpoint in Fabric.Engineering Tools: Hands-on development with Fabric Pipelines, Fabric Dataflows (Gen2), and Spark Jobs.Databases: Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with either Azure PostgreSQL or Azure SQL Server (T-SQL), including performance tuning and schema design.ETL/ELT: Solid understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and experience building pipelines with Azure Data Factory and/or Fabric Pipelines.Reporting: Experience developing reports and dashboards with Power BI (DAX, Power Query M).Programming/Scripting: Proficiency in Python and/or Scala for data processing and Spark development.Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.Preferred QualificationsMicrosoft Azure certifications (e.g., DP-203: Data Engineer Associate, PL-300: Power BI Data Analyst Associate).Experience with other Azure services like Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, or Azure Functions.Experience with DevOps principles and tools like Azure DevOps, Git.Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance standards in the cloud.Understanding of data modeling concepts (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema).
