Job description

We are looking for an experienced OS Engineer with strong expertise in Windows OS image creation, hardening, and deployment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in customizing Windows operating systems, implementing security hardening standards, and building automated deployment solutions using Microsoft deployment tools. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams and adherence to quality and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, customize, and maintain Windows OS images for enterprise environments.
  • Perform OS hardening and security configurations in line with industry standards and organizational policies.
  • Implement and manage Windows OS deployment using Microsoft deployment tools.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline OS configuration, deployment, and validation.
  • Ensure OS images comply with security guidelines such as STIG, Nessus, and firewall policies.
  • Troubleshoot OS-level issues related to boot, deployment, drivers, and security.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation in compliance with QMS.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements, track progress, and ensure timely delivery.
  • Provide regular status updates and support release execution activities.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

  • Windows OS Engineering
    • Hands-on experience (1–2 years) in OS hardening, configuration, and customization
    • Experience with Windows XP, Windows 7, and integration with third-party tools
  • Scripting & Automation
    • Strong experience in VBScript, PowerShell, and Batch scripting
  • Windows Deployment & Imaging
    • Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)
    • Windows ADKWinPEWinRE
    • DISMWIMUnattend.xml
    • Windows Image development and deployment workflows
  • OS Security
    • Knowledge of Windows OS security, firewall configurations
    • Familiarity with STIG, Nessus guidelines, and security policies
  • System & Boot Knowledge
    • Boot Manager concepts
    • BIOS, UEFI
    • Disk management using Diskpart
    • Backup and recovery tools like WbAdmin
  • Active Directory
    • Working knowledge of Windows AD integration

Academic: BE / BTECH (CSE, IT), B.Sc. (Computers), BCA / MCA Or Other Bachelor / Master’s Degree in Computing / IT preferred
