Job description

Job Expectations

We have an exciting opportunity at nbn for a Treasury Accounting Manager, reporting to the General Manager Corporate Finance.

A bit about your role

As the Treasury Accounting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the preparation, review and delivery of accounting and valuation practices for nbn’s treasury activities. This role brings together accounting excellence, strong controls and commercial treasury insight, with a significant focus on being a trusted accounting adviser to the Treasury team. You will provide clarity in a complex and fast‑paced environment, ensuring treasury outcomes are both technically sound and commercially meaningful.

In this role, you will work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders to further develop and implement accounting and valuation solutions, leveraging a newly implemented Treasury Management System. You will be responsible for accurate and timely accounting and reporting in line with AASB 9, overseeing daily, weekly and month‑end processes, and ensuring the integrity of treasury‑related balances across debt, interest and derivatives. Your work will include interpreting external market movements and translating their impact into clear financial outcomes, maintaining and enhancing the Treasury Management System to maximise its value, and embedding robust controls, reconciliations and segregation of duties.

A bit about you

You are a highly experienced treasury accounting professional who brings deep technical knowledge, sound judgement and a collaborative mindset. You likely currently hold a senior treasury accounting role or are a manager (or equivalent) within a Big 4 accounting firm and are ready to step into a purpose‑driven corporate environment. You are CA or CPA qualified and have advanced knowledge of banking, debt capital, risk markets, accounting and finance, with a strong understanding of AASB 9 and complex hedge accounting.

You are confident working with treasury management systems and bring hands‑on experience in this space, with exposure to FIS Quantum considered a distinct advantage. You approach your work with curiosity and a solutions‑focused mindset, valuing collaboration and open communication.
