The Application Developer II creates and maintains existing applications using agile development methodologies like Scrum and pair programming. Works on cloud-based distributed applications utilizing client-side and server-side programming (full stack development). Serves as a technical lead role on select projects.
This is a REMOTE (work-from-home) position. Occasional travel to the Pittsburgh, PA offices will be required.
Responsibilities
- Creates new and modifies existing custom distributed applications
- Uses development frameworks (e.g. .NET and Angular)
- Adheres to Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and agile methodologies (e.g. scrum, pair programming)
- Analyzes, architects, and designs application integrations through SOAP and REST-based web services
- Implements integration workflows using an ESB framework or other serverless technologies like Azure Functions and Azure Logic Apps
- Troubleshoots technical issues and documents solutions
- Designs and implements database changes including schema modifications, stored procedures, and indexes
- Manages and evaluates testing and quality assurance
- Writes unit tests
- Writes integration tests
- Develops formal test plans
- Develops ad hoc reports as required by the application or users
- Configures and administrates .NET based AMS
- Assigns and resolves the development team’s support tickets and service requests
- Contributes technical documents to ONS’s knowledgebase and documentation repository
- Lead or support aligned areas of focus and/or departmental assignments, such as troubleshooting, deployments, and project calls, during scheduled or unexpected off-hours, as needed.

Required Skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects.
- Strong written and oral presentation skills including answering questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Working knowledge of web application design and transactional database technologies is highly preferred.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related area of study ( An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements ).
- 3-5 years of experience developing applications in C#, VB.NET, Java, or other JVM languages with JavaScript, jQuery, or other JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Ember).
- 3-5 years of experience working with SQL Server, MySQL, or other relational database, SVN, Git, or other revision control system.
- 3-5 years of experience working with and configuring web servers in Linux or Windows.
- 3-5 years of experience working with integration platforms (e.g. BizTalk, Informatica, MuleSoft), HTML5, CSS3, and MS Azure or Amazon Web Services.
- 1-3 Years of experience with Python and ETL processes is a strong plus.

Pay Range
Oncology Nursing Society uses a market-based approach to pay. Pay rates are established considering the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified periodically based on market analysis.
Anticipated Pay Range: $71,133 - $87,137 annually.
