Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Senior Paralegal to join our Legal IP – India Division
The preference for this role is to be based out of Chennai - Brigade World Trade Centre
What you will do
- Assisting corporate legal attorneys in resolving advanced legal issues.
- Conducting legal tasks, such as research, review, and drafting, under the supervision of corporate legal attorneys.
- Audits, controls, and/or maintains repositories of legal documentation and procedures.
- Collecting law sources for attorneys such as statutes, regulations, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles and legal codes for preparation of legal documents, such as pleadings, appeals, contracts, legal opinions, etc.
What you will have
- 3-year degree is required
- 5 years of relevant experience as patent paralegal handling patent enforcement and patent litigation matters is desired
- This position requires candidate to work a 5-day -a -week schedule in the office.

Patent Enforcement: Expertise in practices and policies related to patent enforcement, encompassing lead generation, infringement analysis, drafting internal memoranda, preparing cease and desist letters, and letters of undertaking. Proficient in evaluating damages in patent infringement cases.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Extensive experience in handling patent enforcement and patent litigation matters.
• Hands on experience in enforcement lead generation and shortlisting will-fit & counterfeit suppliers
• Experience in drafting cease & desist letters, letters of undertaking, internal memos
• Leads explorations of business risk and consequences of patent Infringement
• Explores with management appropriate options for handling patent infringement
• Experience in assessing the damages incurred in a patent infringement matter
• Understanding of patent marking requirements in India and US
• Ensures proper protection of organization's confidential information.

• Selects legal documents and research tools to be utilized by the legal department.
• Interprets major types of legal analysis required by the organization.
Legal Function: Knowledge of the major responsibilities, accountabilities, and organization of the legal function or department; ability to provide legal consulting, advice and assistance.

• Works with major units or sub-functions of the legal department.
• Monitors major current legal challenges, initiatives and issues.
• Works with common transactions and documents processed by the legal department.
• Explains the mission, vision and objectives of the legal function.
