Job description
We are searching for a Systems Integration Administrator. This role requires a strong background in Red Hat Linux for building, maintaining, and troubleshooting our server infrastructure. As the responsibilities of this team grows, this position will be critical in onboarding new software applications, with responsibilities expanding to include the automation and streamlining of processes for installation, configuration, and deployment in a secure production environment.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, manage, and troubleshoot Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers.
- Automate and streamline processes for onboarding, installing, configuring, and deploying applications to a secure production environment.
- Develop and maintain a platform that automates Linux maintenance and patching, shifting from manual administration.
- Conduct routine and complex troubleshooting to resolve issues related to the OS, software configurations, and system updates.
- Collaborate with development teams to support the full application lifecycle, from initial onboarding to production deployment.
- Ensure all systems meet government and organizational security requirements and frameworks (e.g., NIST, STIGs).
- Participate in incident response and conduct root-cause analysis for system and application issues.
- Coordinate and collaborate with team members and customers to understand, propose, and continuously implement service improvements.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in Red Hat Linux administration within an enterprise environment.
- Professional certifications such as any of the following: Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or CompTIA Linux+
- Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments, such as government or defense.
- In-depth knowledge of the Linux OS (RHEL 7+/CentOS 7+) and its core components, including the kernel, system libraries, and package management (RPM, YUM).
- Solid understanding of fundamental network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS, and HTTP.
- Security+ certification is required
- A strong understanding of secure system design and operational security principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with automation and scripting/programming using languages such as BASH or Python.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment practices.
- Experience with virtualization technologies like VMware or container platforms such as Docker or Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) concepts.
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification.
- Ability to document processes and clearly communicate technical risks to stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
