Position: Welder

Location: Chester, PA

Pay: $23-$25/hour. Based on experience

Fabrication Shop Experience is required.

Job Duties: Including but not limited to

• Receives instructions, prints, and work orders for the job.
• Plans details of working procedure and tools and material requirements.
• Layout and fitting per drawings.
• Fabricates parts by cutting, burning, and welding various metals.
• May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torch, straightening press, and hand tools
• Uses burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and to cut material to size and shape.
• Repairs parts by using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment.
• Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded. Sets up, assembles, and tacks weld parts.
• Builds up worn or defective surfaces.
• Ensures welding processes, procedural instructions, evaluations, inspection processes, etc. are held to customer and code requirements of all fabrication performed.
• Fabricate, weld, and assemble steel tooling and fixtures with the use of common metal shop tools/equipment such as band saws, plasma and gas torch cutters, lathes, drill presses, etc.
• Read, interpret, comprehend, and comply with work instruction, process sheets, diagrams, sketches and blueprints to determine operations, required materials and timeframes for projects.
• Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment.
• Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, fit up, and welding operations of structures.
• Able to effectively utilize fixtures, jigs, and clamps, as provided for effective positioning and holding of parts to be welded.
• All other duties as assigned.

Basic Requirements & Qualifications: Including but not limited to:

• Must be able to read and interpret complex blueprints
• Flux Core proficiency is a MUST
• Must be able to pass ASME Section 9 open root weld test
• High School diploma/ GED and minimum of two years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3 years of experience with fabrication within the steel industry
• Must understand GD&T
• Ability to read blueprints, tape measures, calipers, micrometers, weld gauges
• Physical Demands include ability to maneuver up to 200 lbs. independently and safely lift 50 lbs. without assistance.
