Additional Information About the Role Location Barnes Jewish Hospital Full Time - 40 hours Monday - Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm Supporting needs of the Center for Advance Medicine concierge office Benefit Eligible Role Customer Service experience is a plus! Barnes-Jewish Hospital's staff is composed of full-time academic faculty and community physicians of Washington University School of Medicine, supported by a house staff of residents, interns, fellows and other medical professionals. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Coordinates office operations ensuring coverage of both the business center and the information desks as required. Assists the Lead Concierge in development of promotional materials which may include content for reports, briefings, newsletters or other written information related to the concierge program. Provide database management and tracking of concierge statistics. Responsibilities Performs front office duties, takes incoming calls, tracks inventory, compiles data, prepares reports, covers the concierge desks as needed and provides support to concierge volunteers. Responsible for providing non-medical guidance and assistance to patients and families. Acts as a communication liaison, to hear and understand a patient’s individual needs, desires, and concerns. Guides and connects the patient and family to a range of non-medical services, amenities, and information that can support effective healing and ensure a positive patient care experience. Visits VIP’s daily and follows up with correspondence upon discharge. Rounds on inpatients ensuring an excellent patient experience. Assists and supports orientation and training of new concierge, as well as assisting Lead Concierge in completion of daily tasks, database maintenance and service tracking. Serves as a link between patients/families and private services to provide additional amenities. Consults with department leadership throughout the hospital to find out how they can meet the needs of newly admitted patients and those who stay for extended periods. Organizes services to help patients, families and visitors with daily needs that may otherwise be difficult to meet in a hospital setting.
