We are searching for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team located at our corporate headquarters in Lake Forest, IL. Responsibilities Your Role: The HR Generalist supports day-to-day human resources operations for corporate and field-based teams, providing hands-on execution across core HR programs. This role partners closely with the Corporate HR Director to deliver a consistent, compliant, and positive employee experience for both on-site and remote employees, including Sales and Customer Service teams. The HR Generalist supports employees across multiple corporate functions, including IT, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, Global Commercialization, Procurement, and other cross-functional teams. Onboarding & Offboarding Coordinate onboarding and separation processes to ensure a smooth, professional employee experience Manage new hire orientation, documentation, systems access, equipment coordination, and exit processes Leave Administration Administer employee leave programs, including maternity/paternity leave, short term disability, FMLA, and other leaves of absence Serve as a point of contact for employees and managers throughout the leave lifecycle Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with applicable laws and policies HR Policy & Compliance Apply and administer company policies and procedures consistently. Respond to employee and manager policy questions and escalate complex issues as needed. Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Maintain HR documentation and support audit readiness, including Ethics Line reporting support. Employee Relations Serve as a first point of contact for routine employee relations matters. Assist with investigations, documentation, and issue resolution in alignment with company policies. HR Operations & Process Support Support the execution and continuous improvement of HR processes and workflows. Ensure accurate, timely HR administration across both corporate and remote populations. Support for Virtual & Field Teams Provide HR support to remote and field based Sales and Customer Service employees. Ensure consistent application of HR programs and effective communication regardless of location. Employee Engagement & Wellness Assist with employee engagement and wellness initiatives, including biometric screenings, wellness events, and related communications. Change & Organizational Support Support organizational changes, restructures, and employee communications. Assist with preparation of materials, logistics, and employee notifications. Recruiting & Executive Interview Support Provide on-site support for executive and senior level candidate interviews, including greeting candidates, escorting them between meetings, and coordinating logistics with the recruiting team. You will love it here if… You put safety first, always You listen, learn, and evolve You are passionate about collaboration, teamwork, and achieving shared goals You treat all people with respect, operating ethically, and embrace inclusivity You are committed to improving our impact on local communities Qualifications We need you to have: BA/BS degree in Human Resources or related field required. 3–5 years of progressive HR Generalist or HR Operations experience Experience supporting professional, corporate, and/or remote employee populations Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws Proficient in Microsoft Office Strong written and verbal communication skills Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills Comfortable supporting both on-site and virtual teams Collaborative, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment Icing on the cake: MBA or other advanced degree. PHR or SPHR certification. Experience administering employee leave programs strongly preferred. Exposure to CPG and/or manufacturing environments a plus. Experince with ADP preferred.
