TEMPORARY - Curatorial Assistant (part-time, 17.5 hours/week)
Curatorial Assistant in the herpetology collection at the Bean Life Science Museum will be responsible for the generation and analysis of molecular and morphological data for reptile and amphibian research projects. This position will also write and publish scientific papers based on the resulting data.
What you’ll do in this position:
- Generation of molecular and morphological data
- Phylogenetic analysis
- Writing and publication of scientific paper
What qualifies you for this role:
Required
- A firm commitment to the mission of BYU.
- Lab techniques including extraction of DNA, PCR, and Sanger sequencing
- Experience and competence with the following programs: Geneious, Mr. Bayes, R, Mega, Beast, BioGeobears, and IQtree
Preferred
- Experience with writing and publication of scientific papers

Pay Grade: 46
Typical Starting Pay: $16.50 to $21.25 an hour
