Pharmacy Technician

Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pharmacy Technician, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and medication safety. In this vital role, you will support pharmacists by preparing and dispensing medications, managing medication inventory, and ensuring accurate patient records.

Duties

• Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, including compounding sterile and non-sterile medications using aseptic techniques for IV infusions and other treatments.
• Manage medication inventory, ensuring proper storage, stock levels, and timely reordering to prevent shortages.
• Accurately process medication orders, verify prescriptions, and update patient records with detailed medical terminology for clarity and compliance.
• Support intake procedures by reviewing patient information, verifying insurance details, and coordinating medication delivery or administration schedules.
• Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques during medication preparation to ensure patient safety and prevent contamination.
• Provide excellent patient service by answering questions about medications, explaining usage instructions, and assisting healthcare professionals with medication administration.
• Document all pharmacy activities meticulously, including medication dispensing logs, incident reports, and inventory records to ensure compliance with hospital protocols.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to pharmacy practice and patient care documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to handle intake processes efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in high-pressure environments.
• Strong commitment to patient service and patient care principles, with excellent communication skills.
• Language skills: Mandarin/Cantonese desired.

Hours will be flexible.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
