How you’ll make an impact: As an intern in the Content and Ad Delivery team, you will gain hands-on experience working with the core infrastructure that powers livestreaming, podcast distribution, ad selection, and ad delivery at scale. You will contribute to the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of critical components that support a vital part of our organization’s ecosystem. In this role, you will collaborate closely with experienced engineers to build, test, and release services, while also participating in maintaining system reliability and performance. You will be exposed to real-world production environments, including actively assisting in incident response, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues affecting live systems. This internship offers a unique opportunity to understand large-scale content delivery systems, develop practical DevOps and engineering skills, and make a tangible impact from day one. What you’ll do: Participate in migration of complex distributed systems Work with the team to investigate root causes of real production incidents Actively involved in reliability improvement implementation Work on monitoring and observability of complex systems at scale Work in a dynamic environment supported by a highly diverse tech stack. What you'll need: Basic knowledge of Linux systems and command-line usage Fundamental understanding of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) Introductory knowledge of at least one cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure) Familiarity with Git for version control Basic scripting skills (e.g., Bash and/or Python) Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible or Terraform is a plus Basic understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) General understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) Problem-solving mindset and willingness to troubleshoot real-world issues Ability to learn quickly and work in a collaborative team environment Good communication skills (important for incident handling) Our goal at SiriusXM is to provide and maintain a work environment that fosters mutual respect, professionalism, and cooperation.
