Job description

About Hypertech Hypertech is a Greek technology company at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Transformation, Smart Energy, and Finance. We build AI-powered platforms, lead EU-funded innovation programmes, and partner with public and private sector organisations across Europe to create measurable, lasting impact. Our team thrives on ambition, rigour, and the belief that technology can fundamentally improve how cities, businesses, and people operate. The Role We are looking for an experienced R&D Senior Programs Manager to lead the design, pursuit, and execution of competitive R&D programmes — with a primary focus on EU-funded initiatives (Horizon Europe, EUI Innovative Actions, ESPA, and related frameworks) and AI & Digital Transformation projects. You will be the organisational owner of our grant lifecycle: from opportunity identification and concept development, through proposal writing and consortium building, to project delivery, reporting, and impact assessment. This is a senior, high-ownership role that sits at the intersection of strategy, technology, and stakeholder management. You will work directly with Hypertech's leadership team and collaborate with external partners including municipalities, universities, and European institutions. Key Responsibilities Programme Development & Grant Writing • Identify, evaluate, and prioritise EU and national funding opportunities aligned with Hypertech's strategic domains (AI, Digital Transformation, Smart Energy, Finance). • Lead the end-to-end development of funding proposals: concept notes, full applications, work plans, budgets, and consortium agreements. • Ensure compliance with funder requirements, eligibility criteria, and submission formats (e.g. EUI, Horizon Europe, ESPA). • Build and maintain a pipeline of active and prospective grant opportunities. Project Execution & Delivery • Manage awarded projects end-to-end: scope, timeline, budget, deliverables, and KPIs. • Coordinate multi-partner consortia including public bodies, academic institutions, and private organisations. • Oversee financial management and reporting to funding bodies; ensure audit readiness. • Drive work package execution across internal teams (AI/tech, business development, finance). Strategy & Stakeholder Management • Contribute to Hypertech's R&D and innovation strategy, identifying new product and market opportunities arising from funded projects. • Represent Hypertech in consortium meetings, public events, and funder interactions. • Cultivate relationships with municipalities, research institutions, and EU programme officers. • Translate R&D outcomes into commercially viable products and services in collaboration with business development.

Required Qualifications • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field: Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline. • 5+ years of hands-on experience in EU-funded project management and/or grant writing (Horizon Europe, ESPA, EUI, Interreg, or equivalent programmes). • Demonstrable track record of successful grant applications and awarded projects. • Strong understanding of AI, digital transformation, and/or smart energy domains at a conceptual and applied level. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Greek is a strong advantage. • Proven ability to manage complex multi-stakeholder projects with competing priorities and deadlines. • Financial literacy: experience with project budget management, cost reporting, and audit preparation. Preferred Qualifications • Experience working with Greek public sector entities (municipalities, ministries, development agencies). • Familiarity with EUI Innovative Actions, Smart Cities frameworks, or urban innovation programmes. • Background in or exposure to AI product development or technology presales environments. • Knowledge of EU cohesion policy, structural funds, and national ESPA frameworks. • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.

We offer • A senior, high-impact role with direct access to company leadership and real strategic influence. • Involvement in cutting-edge AI and Digital Transformation projects with European scale. • Competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, including performance-based incentives. • Stock option plan participation (under Article 42A of the Greek Income Tax Code). • Hybrid working model based in Athens, with flexibility for remote work. • A collaborative, ambitious, and intellectually stimulating team environment. • Continuous professional development and exposure to the European innovation ecosystem.
