About the Role We are seeking a Clinical Director to lead and oversee clinical services within our Level 3.1 behavioral health programs. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality care, supporting and supervising clinical staff, and driving program development and operational excellence. The Clinical Director plays a critical leadership role, balancing oversight of clinical operations with staff development, compliance, and program growth. This position may maintain a reduced caseload while prioritizing leadership responsibilities. What You’ll Do Lead and oversee all clinical operations across assigned programs Provide supervision, coaching, and support to therapists and clinical supervisors Develop and implement clinical programming and strategic initiatives Ensure compliance with all regulatory, licensing, and organizational standards Oversee staff scheduling, caseload distribution, and service delivery Support recruitment, hiring, and retention of clinical staff Facilitate training and professional development opportunities Monitor performance and implement corrective action when needed Maintain relationships with community partners and referral sources Participate in organizational initiatives, committees, and program development Work Environment 100% on-site role supporting programs in Harbeson and Seaford, DE Local travel within Sussex County required Active role requiring engagement with staff and clients throughout the day Additional Information This position is considered an essential role, meaning team members are expected to report to work during emergencies or critical situations to ensure continuity of care and operations. All employees are required to comply with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations and maintain the confidentiality of client information at all times.
Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, chemical dependency, or related field Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in human services At least 3 years of experience in behavioral health Demonstrated experience in a clinical leadership role Preferred: Experience in residential treatment settings (2+ years strongly preferred) Licensure or certification (LCSW, LPCMH, CADC, CAADC, or equivalent) Skills & Experience Strong leadership and team management skills Knowledge of substance use disorder treatment and evidence-based practices Familiarity with ASAM Criteria (Level 3.1 preferred) Experience with utilization review and payer communication Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills
