The Payroll Coordinator ensures the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll in compliance with company policies and applicable laws. This role supports day-to-day payroll operations, including data entry, payroll calculations, deductions, and reconciliations. The Payroll Coordinator acts as a key point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, maintains confidential payroll records, and collaborates with HR, Finance, and external vendors to resolve discrepancies, support audits, and ensure compliance with tax and labor regulations. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and knowledge of payroll systems are essential to success in this role. To provide support for Australia, the Payroll Coordinator will be required to work two days per month from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m Process end-to-end fortnightly payroll for Australian and/or Canadian unionized employees in accordance with legislative and company requirements Review, verify, and process employee timesheets and payroll inputs Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, employment changes, and benefit setup review and process crew travel and related expenses Prepare and transmit bank files and complete payroll cycle reporting Remit government source deductions and manage garnishments in compliance with applicable regulations Complete monthly payroll close activities, including reconciliations, journals, interfaces, vouchers, and management reports, in collaboration with the accounting team Ensure compliance with Canadian (CRA, WSIB) and Australian payroll legislation, including statutory remittances and reporting Coordinate and manage year-end payroll activities, including reconciliations and reporting Support special projects, system upgrades, and retroactive pay calculations Contribute to the continuous improvement of payroll processes, procedures, and tools Perform other related duties as required The skills you will bring to our team Education qualifications College diploma in administration or equivalent BAC would be an asset Member of National Payroll Institute (NPI) an asset Technical Skills Oracle, ADP, Outlook, Microsoft Word/Excel and a Payroll Software Program. Analyze Information, Reporting Skills, Accuracy, Confidentiality, Verbal Communication. Experience 3-5 years of experience supporting payrolls of approximately 700–900 employees across multiple jurisdictions and unionized environments International payroll experience required (Australia) Why CSL?
