Job description
The Mine Planner must cover all aspects within the mine’s value chain, from exploration through mining to production and ore feed.
- Medium and long term mine planning scenario options
- Corrective action options for identified deviations from plan
- Medium term mining plans
- Mine LOM plan
- Monthly planning
- Mine technical systems required for mine planning purposes
- Financial and resource modelling
- Gather input required for mine scenario plans (Finance, Engineering, HR, Geology ect.)
- Run medium and long term scenarios
- Track actual performance against selected scenarios.
This role is a Band 6 level reporting to Senior Manager Technical Mining
- Grade 12.
- Mine overseer ticket or equivalent (Survey- Government Certificate of Competence).
Experience
- Operational experience (5 years) in the Mining/ Survey discipline.
- 5 years experience in underground mine planning.
Knowledge and Skills
- Demonstrable understanding of the intricacies and interdependencies involved in mine planning (inter discipline, mining operations).
- Ability to obtain information from relevant sources & liaison with other disciplined ( Survey, Rock Engineer, ect).
- Ability to relate the outputs of the mine plans with financial implications.
- Computer literacy commensurate with the role.
- Planning systems knowledge.
- Reporting skills.
- Mine RP planner (Epirock - Planner)
