Job description

Lead Technical,and Expense Modelling,develop, maintain, and implement market-leading pricing models to ensure competitive and profitable offerings.
Drive Innovation in Products and Models,support the design and development of new and innovative products, pricing strategies, and modelling techniques.
Establish Monitoring Framework,assist in setting up robust monitoring frameworks to track performance, profitability, and compliance with pricing objectives.
Policy Administration System (PAS),take ownership of PAS pricing requirements, ensuring accurate and timely implementation aligned with business needs.
Support Management in Achieving Objectives,collaborate with leadership to ensure profitability targets and strategic objectives are consistently met

Type of Qualification: 
3 year BSc, 4 year B BusSc or BCom with actuarial majors
Honours is an advantage
Member of Actuarial Society of South Africa /Member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. 
At least 6 exemptions / actuarial exam passes 

Experience Required

4-7 years of short-term pricing experience.
Experience with data is preferred.
Experience in short term insurance pricing.
Experience in system (PAS, rating engine or claims) implementation.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of short-term insurance pricing techniques.
  • Understanding of short-term insurance products and business principles. 
  • Understanding of balance sheet and Income statement.
  • Knowledge of actuarial processes and control cycle 
  • Knowledge of the product development process.
  • Understanding of how the FSCA operates.
  • Understanding of the economic environment’s impact on short term insurance industry.
  • Knowledge of South African insurance regulation.
  • Knowledge of system implementation.
