Job description

Overview

Our events - BoF VOICES, BoF CROSSROADS, The Business of Beauty Global Forum, and our growing portfolio of gatherings - are where the most influential people in fashion, beauty, luxury, and the wider creative industries come together to exchange ideas that shape the future of the sector. These are not trade conferences. They are intimate, intellectually ambitious convenings designed to set the agenda for the global industry.

We are looking for a Curator to help design and deliver the programming that makes these gatherings exceptional. Working closely with BoF's Founder and editorial leadership, you will research and identify speakers, develop thematic narratives, and help shape every element of the on-stage experience. This is a role for someone who combines deep curiosity about the world with the rigour and relational skills to turn great ideas into great sessions.

This is also an extraordinary opportunity to learn. You will work at close range with one of the fashion industry's most respected editorial voices, gaining exposure to global leaders across business, culture, technology, and the arts. For the right person, this role is a platform to develop into a senior curatorial voice in your own right.

Who Are We?

The Business of Fashion is recognised around the world for its authoritative, analytical point of view on the global fashion and beauty industries. Our mission: to open, inform and connect the global fashion and beauty industries.

Serving more than 100,000 paying members in more than 125 countries, The Business of Fashion combines independent, agenda-setting journalism with practical business advice, online learning, career-building tools and immersive events, powering positive change in fashion and the wider world.

Over time, our pioneering approach has made BoF the fashion industry’s leading source of business intelligence, and one of its most respected and influential voices, simply because you won’t find BoF’s original reporting, analysis and advice anywhere else. The Business of Beauty brings the same kind of agenda-setting coverage to the beauty and wellness space. Today, our talented team of correspondents, editors, analysts, engineers, designers, marketers and more numbers more than 100 people in London, New York, Los Angeles, Paris and Milan.

Commitment to Diversity

BoF is committed to building a diverse workforce and we are proud to be an Equal Opportunities employer. All applicants and employees receive equal treatment regardless of race, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation, gender, age, disability, marital or civil partner status, pregnancy or maternity.

Commitment to Inclusivity

BoF is committed to building an inclusive environment where everyone can bring their authentic selves to work and reach their full potential within their roles using a growth mindset. We are committed to creating an inclusive culture for our employees globally.

Commitment to Accessibility

BoF is committed to providing an accessible environment for all applicants throughout any stage of the recruitment process, by removing any barriers to ensure we offer a process that gives all of our applicants an opportunity to shine.

We will work with you to understand what adjustments you may need in the recruitment process to ensure you are able to perform at your best and we want to create a safe space to support this. Should you require any particular adjustment to be made, please let the Talent Specialist who is managing your application know when you are contacted for an interview, so we can consider how best we can support you with this.

What We Need You to Do

With a blend of editorial sensibility, curatorial ambition, and strong project management instincts, the Curator will work closely with BoF's Founder, the Executive Editor of The Business of Beauty, and the Deputy Head of Events to design and deliver programming for a senior, diverse, and global audience. The role spans the full arc of event content — from early-stage research and speaker identification through to thematic narrative development, copywriting, and on-site delivery. The ideal candidate brings intellectual curiosity that ranges well beyond fashion, the relational confidence to engage with high-profile speakers, and the writing ability to translate sophisticated ideas into compelling copy that draws audiences in.

There are four key areas of responsibility for this role.

Programme Design & Curation

  • Research and identify potential speakers across fashion, business, culture, technology, science, and the arts — looking beyond the obvious to find voices that will surprise and provoke a highly discerning audience.
  • Develop thematic narratives and session architectures for BoF VOICES, BoF CROSSROADS, The Business of Beauty Global Forum, and other BoF events, ensuring each programme tells a coherent story and takes the audience on an intellectual journey.
  • Bring a genuinely global curatorial lens to programming — particularly for BoF CROSSROADS, which requires deep understanding of fashion and creative industries beyond the traditional Western centres, including across the Global South.
  • Prepare detailed speaker briefings, session scripts, and run-of-show documents that ensure every moment on stage is purposeful and polished.
  • Brief and prepare speakers before their sessions, helping them refine their narrative and delivery for BoF's intimate, high-calibre format.

Speaker Relations

  • Build and maintain relationships with a diverse, globally representative network of potential speakers — from CEOs and designers to academics, artists, and technologists — across both established and emerging fashion markets.
  • Manage end-to-end speaker operations: outreach, negotiation, contracting, logistics coordination, and on-site support.
  • Represent BoF with warmth, professionalism, and editorial credibility in all external interactions.

Editorial & Copy

  • Write speaker announcements, event descriptions, and thematic copy that communicates the intellectual ambition of BoF's programming in a way that is clear, compelling, and drives ticket sales. Copy should market the event by articulating sophisticated themes accessibly - giving prospective attendees a reason to prioritise BoF gatherings over everything else in their calendar.
  • Partner directly with BoF's Founder on BoF VOICES and BoF CROSSROADS programming, and with the Executive Editor of The Business of Beauty on The Business of Beauty Global Forum.
  • Work closely with BoF's editorial and research teams to ensure event programming reflects and advances BoF's editorial agenda and point of view.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of BoF's virtual Masterclass series and other programming formats.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Content Operations on promotional coordination and asset delivery.

Supporting the Wider Events Portfolio

  • Support the delivery of curated, partner, and community gatherings with seamless execution.
  • Continuously scan the landscape for emerging trends, formats, and innovations in event programming.
  • Use AI tools fluently as part of your research, planning, and copywriting workflow — we expect comfort with tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI-powered platforms as a natural extension of the curatorial and editorial process, not a replacement for original thinking.

Who You Are

You are intellectually curious in the deepest sense - the kind of person who reads widely across disciplines, connects unexpected ideas, and gets genuinely excited about the intersection of fashion with technology, politics, science, or culture. You may not yet have years of senior-level speaker relations experience, but you have the raw materials that matter most: exceptional taste, strong editorial instincts, and the confidence to engage with very senior people. Specifically:

  • You are a voracious reader and thinker with broad cultural knowledge that extends well beyond fashion and beauty.
  • You write clearly, precisely, and persuasively - whether drafting a speaker invitation, a session brief or promotional copy.
  • You are comfortable engaging with very senior executives, creatives, and public figures, and can hold your own in intellectually demanding conversations.
  • You have strong project management instincts and can manage complex, multi-stakeholder processes without dropping details.
  • You naturally blend right brain / left brain thinking, combining analytical rigour with creative sensibility — you can build a spreadsheet and craft a narrative arc with equal confidence.
  • You have a genuine passion for the fashion and beauty industries, and an understanding of the business dynamics that shape them.
  • You have a genuinely global perspective, with real understanding of fashion and creative industries beyond the Western centres, including across the Global South.
  • You are fluent with AI and emerging technology tools and you actively seek out new tools and workflows that sharpen your output and efficiency. You see technology as an amplifier of your curatorial and editorial instincts, not a substitute for them.
  • You are proactive, self-directed, and comfortable working across time zones and managing a demanding, varied workload.
  • Prior experience in events programming, editorial, journalism, or talent/speaker relations is valued, but exceptional candidates from adjacent fields will be considered.

You’ll Know You’re Successful When…

  • You have become an indispensable thought partner to BoF's leadership on programming decisions — proactively surfacing ideas and speakers that elevate the events.
  • You have built strong, trust-based relationships with speakers, guests, and industry contacts who associate you with the BoF brand.
  • Event feedback consistently highlights the quality, originality, and intellectual ambition of the programming.
  • You are a respected collaborator across BoF's editorial, marketing, and events teams.
  • You are visibly growing into a curatorial voice in your own right.

For the right person, this role is a launchpad. Over time, you will have opportunities to:

  • Take increasing ownership of programme design and speaker strategy across BoF's events portfolio.
  • Develop a visible profile within the BoF community and the wider industry and take on a moderating role at BoF events.
  • Shape the evolution of new event formats and programming innovations.
