Responsibilities Assist in the creation and development of mechanical design concepts and drawings for construction projects. Collaborate with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure design feasibility and project requirements are met. Conduct research and apply engineering principles to develop innovative and cost-effective mechanical systems. Prepare detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, utilizing industry-standard design software. Support the review and modification of designs based on technical feedback and site requirements. Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and design calculations. Participate in project meetings and assist with ensuring all designs adhere to safety standards and industry regulations. Assist in troubleshooting design issues during construction and provide engineering support on-site when necessary.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Basic knowledge of mechanical design principles and UK construction industry standards. Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment. Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey technical information. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and design methodologies. Understanding of safety standards and regulatory requirements relevant to mechanical design in construction. Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management abilities.
Salary £30,000 – £36,000. Hybrid working: 4 days in London office (Near Tottenham Court Road Station), 1 day WFH. 25 days annual leave. Discounted gym membership.
