Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled BIM Modeller to join our growing BIM team within a dynamic architectural practice. As a BIM Modeller, your primary responsibility is the accurate and efficient development of BIM models across multiple disciplines, including Architecture, Structure, Interiors and MEPF services. A strong emphasis is placed on Revit expertise, parametric modelling, and Scan-to-BIM workflows, ensuring that various data sources are translated into high-quality, information-rich models aligned with dhk BIM Best Practices.

The ideal candidate is a technically strong Revit user who understands how disciplined modelling directly impacts coordination, documentation efficiency, data quality and project delivery. We offer a competitive salary and an environment that encourages growth, innovation and excellence in the BIM field.

What You’ll Do

Standards & Modelling:

  • Develop accurate, information-rich BIM models in Revit across Architecture, Structure, Interiors and MEPF services.
  • Execute Scan-to-BIM workflows, including point cloud processing and conversion into well-structured Revit models
  • Implement the BIM Execution Plan and ensure adherence to dhk BIM Best Practices
  • Apply ISO19650 modelling and naming conventions appropriately within all Revit environments
  • Create, modify and manage Revit families, ensuring correct parameters, classification, nesting and performance
  • Use advanced Revit functions such as view templates, filters, work sets, phasing, design options, and schedules
  • Prepare coordinated exports, extractions, sheets and documentation for project teams
  • Maintain model health through regular clean-ups, audits and optimisation
  • Support asset data integration (COBie, Uniclass, Omniclass) where required

Revit Technical Expertise:

  • Strong command of parametric modelling and understanding of model behaviour
  • Ability to troubleshoot Revit issues including view errors, warnings, worksharing conflicts and modelling anomalies
  • Efficient use of Revit add-ins, plugins, point cloud tools and productivity extensions
  • Proficiency in setting up templates, shared parameters and discipline-specific modelling workflows
  • Understanding of the impact of modelling decisions on downstream coordination and documentation
  • Ability to manage model performance, work set strategy, file size control, family optimisation

Technical Support:

  • Assist project teams with Revit-related queries, modelling problems and workflow guidance
  • Collaborate with BIM Coordinators and the BIM Manager to resolve model issues efficiently
  • Provide input on improving modelling workflows, automation opportunities and digital efficiencies
  • Assist with software related queries in coordination with BIM Coordinators and Managers

Training & Professional Development:

  • Participate in internal BIM and Revit training sessions
  • Maintain an advanced level of competency in Revit and related BIM tools
  • Stay current with Revit releases, new tools, industry modelling trends and digital construction workflows

Project Interface:

  • Support teams with accurate and consistent BIM production throughout project lifecycles
  • Assist in Revit project setup under guidance from BIM Coordinators and the BIM Manager
  • Coordinate updates with architects, engineers and specialists to maintain model integrity
  • Assist in clash detection preparation, model clean-ups and QA processes
  • Ensure full compliance with BIM structures, naming conventions and documentation protocols
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on Revit modelling experience
  • Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Drafting or related field
  • Proven multi-discipline modelling capability, Architecture, Structure, Interiors and MEPF
  • Experience working with point clouds and Scan-to-BIM modelling
  • Strong understanding of Revit worksharing, coordination, documentation and data structures
  • Experience with BIM 360/ACC is advantageous
  • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering documentation accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to modelling accuracy
  • Good communication and organisational skills
