About The Job As a Packaging Buyer, you will play a critical role in shaping and delivering Danone New Zealand’s packaging strategy within our Specialised Nutrition business. Working closely with cross‑functional teams and suppliers, you will ensure packaging solutions are cost‑effective, high-quality, compliant, and aligned with our sustainability and innovation ambitions. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will lead supplier partnerships, drive productivity initiatives, and support exciting innovation and renovation projects across New Zealand. Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): Driving the New Zealand packaging strategy and supporting business priorities Leading packaging contract negotiations, including pricing, terms, risk, and supplier performance Managing packaging suppliers through strong partnerships and regular performance reviews Delivering dual‑sourcing and productivity projects to strengthen supply resilience Supporting innovation and renovation projects with packaging expertise Maintaining accurate packaging, pricing, forecasts, and agreements within SAP Collaborating with Quality, Supply Chain, R&D, Manufacturing, Finance, and Project teams About You You are a commercially minded procurement professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment. You bring a structured yet flexible approach, build strong relationships, and are confident in balancing cost, quality, risk, and sustainability. Your contract management, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills will drive you to succeed in this role. Ideally, you will have: Experience in procurement or buying, preferably within FMCG, food, dairy, or pharmaceutical packaging Strong capability in supplier management and contract negotiation Experience supporting or leading cross‑functional projects A degree in Business, Management, or a related field Strong analytical, planning, and communication skills Confidence using systems such as SAP, along with Excel and PowerPoint A proactive mindset with the ability to simplify complexity and drive outcomes About Us At Danone, we aim to inspire healthier and more sustainable eating and drinking practices, in line with our Vision - Danone, One Planet.
