Job description
Overview Workers' Compensation Analyst will manage all aspects of assigned workers' compensation claims, including investigation of reported injury/illness and causal relationship to work, nature and extent of disability, and resolution plan in accordance with the applicable state and federal statutes according to the department best practices. Additional responsibilities include: Educate employees with work related injuries/illnesses on the benefits available under state and federal statutes Estimate reserves required to satisfy the liability incurred as a result of a workplace injury/illness Manage approved vendor services to maximize return on investment Travel between CT and RI Workers' Compensation offices as necessary Qualifications Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent Must have or be able to obtain Rhode Island claim adjusting license as mandated by state regulations within 30 days of hire Minimum of 1 year experience in Medical insurance, risk management or legal office Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree in HR or Finance Previous experience in project management or supervisory capacity Currently holds Rhode Island claim adjusting license as mandated by state regulations in order to perform certain transactions under the appropriate jurisdiction Skills Exceptional organizational and time management skills required Strong written and verbal communication skills required Working knowledge of Microsoft software (excel & word) Strong work ethic is required to manage large caseload along with pleasant demeanor in dealing with injured workers, medical providers, attorneys and other third parties Critical thinking and situational analysis skills required for strong and supported decision making Physical Qualifications Light Lifting, Stooping, Twisting Environmental Attributes Inside Exceptional organizational and time management skills required Strong written and verbal communication skills required Working knowledge of Microsoft software (excel & word) Strong work ethic is required to manage large caseload along with pleasant demeanor in dealing with injured workers, medical providers, attorneys and other third parties Critical thinking and situational analysis skills required for strong and supported decision making Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent Must have or be able to obtain Rhode Island claim adjusting license as mandated by state regulations within 30 days of hire Minimum of 1 year experience in Medical insurance, risk management or legal office Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree in HR or Finance Previous experience in project management or supervisory capacity Currently holds Rhode Island claim adjusting license as mandated by state regulations in order to perform certain transactions under the appropriate jurisdiction
