Job description
The NYC Department of Probation (DOP) is a world leader in working creatively and effectively engaging with people under court-mandated community supervision. The Department of Probation (DOP) is seeking 2 skilled IT Asset Management Associates. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop and continuously improve IT asset management processes;
- Track key reporting metrics to ensure adherence to effective asset management policies, procedures, and principles agency-wide;
- Review, update and verify Asset and Configuration Item information as it relates to renewed or updated contracts;
- Work with all agency team members to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the inputs and outputs of the asset tracking system;
- Tracking each asset's complete life cycle, including but not limited to: Initial requisition; Inventory and tracking processes; Warranty/service support; Disposal management;
- Analyze and report on inventory, workflow, and data quality;
- Identify and improve deficiencies and lead the coordination and implementation of agreed upon changes to the process;
- Maintain documentation and accurate usage of the asset tracking system ensuring internal processes, procedures, tools and infrastructure are documented, maintained with accuracy, and adhered to in day-to-day operations;
- Assist audits requested by the Agency, City or State or by request from certain manufacturer;
- Review and normalize data from Discovery outputs and create functional asset records from the data;
- Handle special projects and initiatives as assigned.
Hours/shifts are dependent on the needs of the Department. Candidates may be required to work various shifts including evenings and weekends.

IT PROJECT SPECIALIST - 95710
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
- An associate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above.
