POSITION SUMMARY
Purpose
The position is responsible for daily safe operation and monitoring of ASU (Air Separation Unit), and related facilities in Pengerang site, Malaysia. The incumbent needs to ensure the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment, including optimize equipment and systems for manufacturing, troubleshooting, performing routine maintenance, conducting inspections with a focus on safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulations. He shall maintain good communication with on-site customers to ensure smooth supply of products within contractual requirements.
Nature and Scope
This is Plant Engineer role responsibility to ensuring Productivity, Reliability, Quality, Production planning and Cost effectiveness in unit operations and assisting in training and motivating plant personnel.
Plant Engineer will be reporting to AP Pengerang Plant manager. His responsibilities include but are not limited to:
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Support Plant Manager in daily operational related matters. Supervise and train plant personnel along with Plant Manager to ensure safe, reliable and optimum unit operations.
- Assist plant manager in MOC preparation and execution, safe working permit preparation, plan TAR activities and execution, root cause analysis & troubleshooting, Risk Analysis, SWP, FMEA and HIRARC review
- Inspect and assess unit conditions, highlight abnormalities and issues and take immediate actions for safe and effective resolutions.
- Plan and schedule production in close collaboration with commercial, distribution and scheduling team. Plan daily and monthly production for ASU plants to optimize product cost and fulfill customer demand. Monitor tank inventory and engagement with PPE for plant load adjustment if applicable.
- Ensure the cost of production is properly monitored and controlled and take necessary actions to rectify any variance arises.
- Ensure accurate records and plant operating logs are kept and updated. Adhere to ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO 45001, Halal recertification and FSMS procedures where applicable and support the formulation of related standards as per business requirements.
- Facilitate audits processes to assess the compliances of AP On site operations activities against to AP’s standard or relevant applicable standards and to close the findings (i.e., ISO standards, AP Corporate EHS audits, Halal recertification audits, customer audits).
- Work with plant personnel to support plant maintenance activities.
- Responsible for plant process troubleshooting with process engineer and related functional engineer to conduct RCA as required.
- Participate, promote and enforce actively Air Products safety programs, rules and procedures.
- Responsible for CePSWaM role to manage plant scheduled waste, compile scheduled waste inventory and submit to DOE.
- To support the site general activities, inclusive but not limited to support the site security activities and other compliances requirement (i.e., renewal of business licensing, fire certificates with the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia)
- Other responsibilities assigned according to operations and business requirements from time to time.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Engineering, preferably Gas & Chemical with 2 –3 years of manufacturing experiences
- Ability to work in a hands-on environment in an operating plant.
- Ability to work in groups, interacting with plant operations, engineering, maintenance and Global Support Services.
