Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations – with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries.

SNC has led thoughtful and disruptive change in the aerospace and defense industry for the past 60 years and now, we’re applying this tenacity and expertise to the U.S. Air Force’s (USAF) Survivable Airborne Operations Center (SAOC) mission. Join the SNC-led SAOC team and be a part of exciting and meaningful work to modernize and deliver the next-generation SAOC aircraft trusted by the President, Secretary of Defense and Chairs of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to ensure continued critical command, control and communication during national emergencies. If you’re passionate about building the airborne command post of the future, consider SNC for your next mission. Learn more about NC3 and SAOC here.

Are you ready to unleash your technical creativity? Dream, Innovate, Inspire and Empower the next generation to transform humanity through technology and imagination! As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will be a strategic leader and technical authority in the design, development, and validation of cutting-edge electrical/electronic systems for advanced aerospace and defense projects. You will provide direction, mentorship, and innovative solutions to drive successful project outcomes.

As an Electrical CATIA Aircraft Integrator, you will play a key role in leading the design and development of aircraft-level geometry and electrical system integration activities. This position requires deep expertise in CATIA V5+ and 3DEXPERIENCE environments, ensuring the seamless integration of electrical and mechanical subsystems into a cohesive, manufacturable aircraft configuration.

You will serve as a technical leader, guiding design teams, maintaining master geometry, defining interface control, and enforcing best practices in relational and model-based design (MBD). With a focus on CATIA Electrical and the logical and physical product structure.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the electrical logical product structure, ensuring alignment between functional intent and physical architecture within CATIA/3DX.

  • Translate logical system designs into physical 3D representations, maintaining traceability between electrical schematics, functional definitions, and routed geometry.

  • Collaborate with systems engineering teams to ensure CAMEO-based model data (ie: SysML or MBSE architectures) is accurately mapped into the electrical logical domain.

  • Serve as a bridge between CAMEO models, logical schematics, and CATIA physical installations, ensuring all design data remains synchronized through design changes and revisions.

  • Identify and resolve logical-to-physical (L2P) mismatches, including wire routing conflicts, connector allocation, harness flattening issues, and interface discrepancies.

  • Define and maintain logical-to-physical (L2P) linkage strategies to ensure digital continuity across the MBE ecosystem.

  • Lead integration reviews focused on electrical-specific challenges, such as grounding, EMI/EMC considerations, and harness segregation between systems.

  • Contribute to the development of process standards and data governance for electrical logical and physical model integration.

Aircraft Design & Development:

  • Lead aircraft-level 3D design and integration using CATIA V5+, with focus on Electrical Physical Harness Routing and Harness Manufacturing Assemblies

  • Develop and maintain 3D master geometry, datums, interfaces, and product structures

  • Drive consistency in model trees, configurations, and relational design workflows

  • Collaborate across electrical, mechanical, and systems teams to ensure integration feasibility and compliance

  • Partner closely with the Mechanical CATIA Aircraft Integrator to align system geometry and interface management

Technical Leadership:

  • Provide mentorship and technical direction to design teams and CATIA users

  • Champion Model-Based Engineering (MBE) and Model-Based Definition (MBD) methodologies

  • Stay current on emerging CAD technologies, aerospace integration trends, and process improvement initiatives

  • Lead training and establish standards for interacting with aircraft-level design data

Integration & Data Management:

  • Manage subsystem and component interfaces to ensure proper fit, function, and alignment

  • Maintain relational links, publications, and lifecycle relationships within CATIA/3DX

  • Support cross-functional integration reviews and digital mockups

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

  • 14+ years of experience in electrical engineering or a related role.

  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.

  • Expert-level proficiency in CATIA V5 or V6, including relational design, links, and publications

  • Experience managing aircraft-level master geometry, datums, and interfaces

  • Hands-on experience managing geometry in CATIA V6/3DX environments

  • Background in the Aerospace & Defense Industry

  • Proficiency in Electrical Routing, Harness Design, and 3D Model Management

  • Working knowledge of MBE/MBD methodologies and process documentation

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Post-graduate degree/extended education in Electrical Engineering or related field.

  • Ability to oversee use of  Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for electrical applications.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of aerospace and defense industry standards and practices.

  • Exposure to simulations through functional and logical models and system analysis.

  • Experience composing and evaluating an Electrical Load Analysis (ELA).

  • Experience with circuit modeling, simulation, and analysis.

  • Knowledge of industry-standard electrical design principles, to include, but not limited to model-based definition, electrical component selection, manufacturing, and production processes.

  • Familiarity with Electromagnetic Effects (EME) to include Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI).

  • Familiarity with design requirements related to High Intensity Radiated Field (HIRF) and Indirect Effects of Lightning (IEL).

  • Experience in digital or analog circuit design and schematic capture.

  • Understanding of the printed circuit board layout process and tools.

  • Experience applying Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5

  • Knowledge of parametric and model-based mechanical design principles

  • Demonstrated success managing subsystem interfaces via relational design and lifecycle management

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.

  • Ability to travel as required.

  • Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.

  • Precision in designing, testing and troubleshooting electrical/electronic systems and components.

  • Ability to analyze complex electrical/electronic systems and evaluate performance data to identify problems and improve designs.

  • Applying systematic and logical problem-solving techniques to diagnose and resolve electrical/electronic issues.

  • Clearly convey technical information, design specifications, and project updates to team members, stakeholders, and management.

  • Ability to understand technical documents, electrical/electronic schematics, and electronic instrument measurements.

  • Ability to handle small components, tools, and equipment with precisions.

This posting will be open for application for a minimum of 5 days and may be extended based on business needs.
