Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a highly competent QA Automation Engineer with expertise in Java, Selenium, and API testing to support quality assurance processes for enterprise applications. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining automation scripts for functional, regression, and API testing to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate with development and QA teams to streamline testing activities, improve test coverage, and support continuous integration and delivery practices, contributing to operational excellence and rapid deployment cycles.
Software Requirements
Required:
Strong proficiency in Selenium WebDriver with Java (latest stable version), including experience with TestNG and JUnit for test execution
Knowledge of build tools such as Maven for dependency management and project configuration
Experience with Jenkins for continuous integration and automation of test pipelines
Proficiency in JIRA for test case management and defect tracking
Experience with API testing using tools like Postman or REST Assured, including validation of RESTful APIs
Familiarity with database verification (SQL) and data validation techniques for test data management
Preferred:
Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber for behavior-driven testing
Knowledge of cloud-based testing tools or environments (Azure, GCP)
Experience with containerization for test environments (Docker)
Overall Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and execute automated test cases for functional, regression, and API testing.
Collaborate with development, QA, and product teams to understand testing requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
Identify, document, and track defects; work closely with developers to facilitate timely resolution.
Perform code reviews of automated test scripts and improve test strategies based on project needs.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support rapid delivery and regression testing.
Monitor test results, analyze failures, and recommend process improvements to increase test efficiency and reliability.
Support manual testing activities when necessary, especially for exploratory and usability testing.
Ensure adherence to testing standards, best practices, and security policies.

Programming Languages:
Required: Java for writing automation scripts
Preferred: Basic scripting knowledge (Groovy, Python) for advanced automation tasks
Test Automation Frameworks & Tools:
Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber (preferred), REST Assured
API & Data Validation:
REST API testing, database verification (SQL queries)
Build & CI/CD Tools:

Proven experience supporting end-to-end automation for large enterprise applications
Experience with API testing and validation in complex environments
Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment pipelines in an agile setting
Industry experience in finance, banking, or enterprise IT projects is preferred
Day-to-Day Activities
Develop, execute, and maintain automation scripts for functional, regression, and API testing
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support fast release cycles
Collaborate with developers and QA teams on test planning, reviews, and defect management
Troubleshoot failed tests, analyze root causes, and optimize test scripts for performance and reliability
Conduct exploratory testing and review manual testing results for coverage gaps
Document testing procedures, scripts, and defect reports for transparency and future maintenance
Participate actively in daily scrum meetings, sprint planning, and retrospectives
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline
4+ years of experience in QA automation, particularly with Java and Selenium
Certifications like ISTQB, Selenium Certification, or related are advantageous
Proven ability to support automation initiatives supporting continuous delivery models
