Mission
Foundation Academies seeks passionate and dedicated teachers to support our Summer Academy for scholars in Kindergarten through Grade 3 and Grades 6 through 8. This program is designed to accelerate foundational skills in literacy and mathematics, reinforce key standards, and prepare scholars for strong entry into the upcoming school year. This role is ideal for teachers who are energized by accelerating student learning and ensuring scholars enter the school year prepared and confident. Teachers will be expected to maintain high expectations for both academic rigor and student engagement throughout the program

Program Details
- Dates: July 13 – August 6
- Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8am-3:30pm
- Compensation: $40 per hour
- Location: Trenton, NJ
Must be available in person for all Summer Academy dates
What You’ll Do
- Plan and deliver standards-aligned lessons in literacy and/or mathematics that reinforce priority skills and concepts
- Ensure strong alignment between objective, instruction, and assessment, including daily checks for understanding
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including targeted support for students below grade level
- Build a classroom environment that promotes student engagement, academic discourse, and productive struggle
- Use student data to adjust instruction and ensure scholars are progressing toward mastery
- Implement consistent and effective classroom management systems that maximize instructional time
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan, reflect, and strengthen instructional practice
- Participate in program planning and any required professional development

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- NJ Certification in P-3, K-6, or Secondary Specialization required
- Strong understanding of grade-level standards, particularly in literacy and/or mathematics
- Experience teaching in K–3 or middle school grades preferred
- Ability to analyze student work and adjust instruction to meet learning needs
- Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
- Commitment to culturally responsive teaching and working with diverse student populations
