Job description

Ready to turn complex data into trusted insights that power critical national infrastructure? Want to work at the forefront of analytics in a highly regulated, high-impact environment while helping Britain achieve net zero? At EDF, Success is Personal – and with us, your career journey is yours to shape.

As an Analysis & Data Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in transforming complex data into meaningful, actionable insight that supports safe and efficient nuclear operations. Working within Nuclear Operations and IT Services, you’ll contribute to EDF’s journey towards An Electric Britain by delivering scalable, user-centred data platforms that enhance operational performance, predictive capability, and long-term sustainability.

You’ll collaborate across engineering, operations, maintenance, and compliance, enabling smarter, data-driven decision-making in a critical national environment.

This is a primarily remote role, with the opportunity to connect and collaborate in person at our Gloucester Business Park office once or twice a month. These sessions are designed for planning, innovation, and strengthening team relationships, giving you the flexibility to work from home while staying closely aligned with colleagues and stakeholders.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Designing, building, and maintaining analytics solutions that deliver operational and strategic insight
  • Developing data models, pipelines, and transformations to support reporting and advanced analytics
  • Collaborating with engineering, operations, and business teams to understand and translate data needs
  • Ensuring data quality, governance, security, and ethical AI standards are consistently met
  • Supporting predictive analytics and performance optimisation initiatives

Who You Are

We’re looking for an Analytics & Data Engineer who thrives in complex, regulated environments and is passionate about delivering high-quality, scalable data solutions. You bring a strong foundation in data engineering and analytics, combined with a disciplined approach to governance, quality, and collaboration. Are you experienced in…?

  • Developing and deploying end-to-end data pipelines and analytical data models across complex environments
  • Writing and optimising code using SQL, Python and/or R, with experience in cloud-based ML platforms such as Azure ML or Databricks
  • Integrating multiple data sources into governed, reliable platforms with strong data quality, lineage, and documentation practices
  • Translating business requirements into scalable analytics solutions, including reporting and semantic layers
  • Operating and improving data platforms through monitoring, automation, and sound software engineering practices
  • Applying data governance, model validation, and ethical AI principles in real-world scenarios
  • Working effectively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex, cross-functional projects
  • Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (postgraduate qualifications preferred)

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Clearance (SC), which will, ordinarily, require you to have British residency for the last five years.

Pay, Benefits and Culture

We are offering a starting salary of between £47,513 and £84,595, with terms and conditions covered by the EDF Nuclear Generation Company Agreement. The starting salary for the appointment will be dependent on your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.

Everyone is welcome at EDF; we’re committed to building a workforce that reflects gender balance, social mobility, and inclusion of minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+ communities, and those with disabilities. As a Disability Confident employer, we will support applicants requiring adjustments.
