Compliance Officer (Financial Services)

We are hiring a Compliance Officer (Financial Services) to work closely with the General Counsel on legal, regulatory, and compliance matters across our financing business, including oversight of an affiliated rural bank. You should be comfortable navigating a regulated environment, identifying risks early, and translating regulatory requirements into practical, workable solutions. At First Circle, you will work closely with leadership, product, operations, and risk teams to ensure that we operate in a compliant, well-governed, and scalable manner, while supporting continued growth. This role reports directly to the General Counsel and offers high visibility across the business. First Circle is changing financial services for small businesses in the Philippines. Role and responsibilities Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations governing financing and banking activities, including those issued by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business. Prepare and review regulatory submissions, reports, and correspondence. Regulatory Compliance Advisory: Provide day-to-day regulatory compliance support on lending, banking-related operations, and financial products. Identify legal and regulatory risks and recommend practical, business-aligned solutions. Support structuring of transactions to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Affiliate Support: Support oversight of legal and compliance matters relating to the affiliated rural bank. Track compliance obligations, regulatory requirements, and key deadlines. Assist in ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and governance standards. The role will be based in Taguig City, report to the General Counsel, and may require occasional local travel.

3-5 years of experience in regulatory compliance within financial services. Experience in a bank, rural bank, or BSP regulated lending institution. Familiarity with Philippine financial services regulations and BSP regulations; exposure to BSP-regulated entities is a strong advantage. Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, product, and risk teams. Strong legal drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. This is an individual contributor role to start with. We are looking for someone who is comfortable owning and executing the work independently, with appropriate guidance and oversight.
