Job description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented laboratory professional to maintain and operate flow cytometers and support the immunology group in developing therapies for inflammatory, autoimmune, and fibrotic diseases. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in flow cytometry, including troubleshooting assays, working with multi-color panels, and understanding spectral overlap. The candidate should also have great communication skills and being able to communicate with vendors for instrument troubleshooting and routine maintenance. In addition, the candidate must maintain accurate laboratory documentation and be comfortable working independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintain flow cytometers including daily cleans and QCs.
  • Communicate with cytometer vendors to problem solve instrument issues.
  • Isolate PBMCs for flow cytometric analysis.
  • Perform ELISA and MSD assays.
  • Collaborate across research sites and share key learnings and best practices.

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. in biological or biochemical sciences (or a related field) with 2+ years of relevant laboratory experience.  M.S. in biological or biochemical sciences (or related field) with relevant laboratory experience.
  • Strong experience in cell handling and flow cytometry (experience with ZE5, Attune, Cytek Aurora, and Sony MA900 sorter is a plus).
  • Ability to independently perform routine sample processing, instrument maintenance, and daily cleaning of flow cytometers.
  • Proficiency in data analysis using instrument-specific software.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and troubleshooting skills, with excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with scientists across different research sites and vendors for instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Detail-oriented, with accurate record-keeping and the ability to report process deviations to fully support the team activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ELISA and MSD assays.
  • Experience with PBMC isolation (Ficoll and magnetic bead separation).
  • Ability to present data in team meetings.
  • Familiarity with electronic lab notebooks (ELN).
  • Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.

The position is full-time, first shift, Monday-Friday with overtime as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Boston, MA are encouraged to apply.
