Job description

Description

Fully remote with occasional onsite at Fort Belvoir, Va

Connected Logistics builds secure, mission‑critical IT and logistics solutions for the U.S. Army and other federal stakeholders. Our team values integrity, excellence, teamwork, and professional courage, delivering real impact for national security missions.

The Accessions Information Environment (AIE) is the Army's enterprise cloud‑based recruiting and accession platform, built on Salesforce. AIE replaced multiple legacy systems with a modern, mobile‑accessible tool that streamlines lead generation, prospect tracking, applicant processing, and soldier onboarding. Working on AIE means your work directly supports how the U.S. Army recruits and processes new soldiers. Role Function

You are the person who makes sure code gets from development to production safely, on schedule, and without breaking anything. You troubleshoot deployment failures, manage environment configurations, coordinate release sequencing across teams, and keep the pipeline running.

The CI/CD pipeline runs through Azure Dev Ops , and deployments are executed using SFDX packages. Lower environment promotions are automated through ADO pipelines, while higher‑level environment promotions (Staging, Production) are manual, gated releases that you will own and execute. Debugging and observability run through Nebula Logger feeding into Elasticsearch.

Mule Soft integrations run on Amazon EKS, but that infrastructure is managed separately. You will coordinate with the integration team on deployment timing and connectivity, not manage the EKS infrastructure directly.

Security and compliance are part of the job, but they are not the center of it. You will be partnered with cybersecurity and IA teams on remediation, but your primary focus is delivery velocity, pipeline reliability, and release governance. Key Responsibilities Release Engineering and CI/CD (Primary Focus, approximately 60%)

  • Own and administer the CI/CD pipeline in Azure Dev Ops, including multi‑stage deployments, gated approvals, artifact handling, and secure variable configuration across Dev, Integration, Test, Staging, and Production.
  • Execute SFDX package deployments across environments, troubleshooting metadata conflicts, dependency resolution failures, and package versioning issues.
  • Own manual promotion gates for higher‑level environments (Staging, Production), ensuring release readiness, validation, and traceability before each promotion.
  • Manage release sequencing and deployment coordination across Scrum teams, ensuring changes are validated, tested, and promoted through gated environments.
  • Maintain environment parity, sandbox refresh schedules, and configuration governance across all Salesforce orgs.
  • Implement and enforce branching strategies, pull request workflows, merge gates, and code‑quality standards in Git (Azure Repos).
  • Facilitate break‑fix and urgent deployments without violating governance, traceability, or compliance requirements.
  • Leverage Nebula Logger and Elasticsearch to diagnose deployment issues, trace errors, and support post‑deployment validation. Integration and Infrastructure Coordination (approximately 25%)
  • Coordinate with Mule Soft and integration teams on deployment timing, API gateway changes, environment connections, certificates, secrets, and secure token handling. Mule Soft runs on Amazon EKS but is managed by the integration team.
  • Troubleshoot AWS‑side issues impacting Salesforce or integrations, including logging, API endpoints, service connectivity, and performance.
  • Coordinate with development and QA teams to ensure deployment readiness and post‑deployment validation. Security and Compliance Support (approximately 15%)
  • Partner with cybersecurity to address findings by applying patches, completing STIG requirements, and remediating ACAS/Nessus findings.
  • Support SAST/DAST tooling (Checkmarx) and ensure vulnerabilities are tracked and remediated.
  • Produce and maintain audit‑ready documentation including deployment notes, configuration records, STIG checklists, and pipeline diagrams.
  • Ensure all Dev Sec Ops work complies with DoD cybersecurity requirements, IL‑4 controls, and Connected Logistics…
