Our Product Quality & Compliance team is focused on delivering high-quality, safe, and innovative products that meet the needs of pet parents and are uniquely available at PetSmart. We partner cross-functionally under Proprietary Brands, with Brand Management, Global Sourcing, Product Design & Packaging, and Pet Health to bring products from concept to shelf. About the Location Collaborative Work Environment: At PetSmart, teamwork and connection are core to how we thrive. This role is based at our Phoenix Home Office, with an expectation of working a minimum of four days in the office each week. In a standard work week, associates may work up to one remote “flex day” (with leader approval). Our hybrid approach is designed to foster strong collaboration while also supporting flexibility and individual success. About the Job Associate Product Quality Manager Our Product Quality & Compliance team is focused on delivering high-quality, safe, and innovative products that meet the needs of pet parents and are uniquely available at PetSmart. We partner cross-functionally under Proprietary Brands, with Brand Management, Global Sourcing, Product Design & Packaging, and Pet Health to bring products from concept to shelf. As part of the Product Quality & Compliance organization, we establish and maintain global quality standards, processes, and performance metrics that ensure a positive customer experience. We collaborate across the product development lifecycle to ensure all products meet our quality and compliance expectations while continuously educating and elevating our supply chain. Strategy Analyze product performance data including inspections, claims, returns, and reviews to identify trends and risk areas Develop and maintain quality standards and category-specific requirements Identify opportunities for process improvements across internal teams and the supply chain Support continuous improvement initiatives that elevate product quality and vendor performance Contribute to supplier performance management through scorecards, benchmarking, and insights Day to Day Own quality execution for assigned product categories from development through post-launch Review prototypes and production samples for quality, functionality, and manufacturability Execute and manage product testing protocols, ensuring accuracy and on-time completion Coordinate product testing, inspections and audit requirements with third-party providers and Asia Sourcing Offices Lead CAPA processes and ensure resolution of factory and product quality issues Analyze inspection results and supplier performance to identify and mitigate risks Support factory audits including documentation, findings, and CAPAs Partner cross-functionally with Proprietary Brand Managers, Sourcing, Merchandising, and Compliance teams Support investigation of customer claims, incidents, and legal inquiries Communicate quality expectations, risks, and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders Provide oversight to Asia Sourcing Offices and support day-to-day operations Experience Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MET), Business, Merchandising or related field 2-5 years of experience in product quality, manufacturing, or compliance Experience working with global supply chains and third-party quality providers Experience managing multiple projects and working cross-functionally Experience analyzing data and driving process improvements Knowledge and Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail Ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable improvements Working knowledge of product testing, inspections, and quality systems Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft and quality management systems such as CBX Self-motivated with a customer-focused mindset and high level of integrity Additional Job Considerations This role requires collaboration, teamwork, and face-to-face interaction with colleagues, leaders, and/or clients.
