Job description
AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Technical Coordinator in Sacramento, CA.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the development, approval, and implementation of policies and procedures related to contract management on architectural and engineering consultants working on the high-speed rail program, and project management activities related to the scope, schedule, budget, and strategic planning for contracts related to the Record of Decisions (ROD) and pre-construction delivery contracts
- Develop strategic delivery policies, procedures, and processes
- Formulate, approve and implement policies, procedures, processes, and related work breakdown structures for all strategic delivery functional areas
- Develop work plans, schedules, quality plans, and implementation plans
- Prepare technical reports, correspondence, and memorandum for decision-making
- Attend meetings, committees, task forces, and public forums in relation to contract procurement and contract management processes
- Complete contract administration duties and review documents, including submittals, requests for information, change orders, invoicing and payments, and correspondence
- Select and use computer-based processes to compile contract data and develop transportation-related state-of-the-art computer programs and procedures
- Provide oversight of the work of various consultants to ensure compliance with assigned work duties, document contract performance, and take corrective action when appropriate
- Review and develop proposals, various contracts, and project documents prepared by others
- Produce meeting minutes and maintain project and contract files
- Attend trainings and special reviews
- Handle telephone inquiries, attend public workshops, develop other staff, attend staff meetings, and interpret new project requirements
- Prepare and present information regarding various types of transportation engineering matters to the public
- Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related degree and 5 years of experience as a Field Engineer, Project Engineer, Assistant Construction Manager, or related occupation.
Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related degree with 2 years of experience in a related occupation.
Position requires experience in the following:
- Administration of engineering contracts, transportation facility planning, and design principles
- Assessing all phases of transportation engineering duties
- Project Management concepts, including creating timelines, milestones, and deadlines to direct and carry out transportation engineering duties
- Ensuring projects are kept within scope, cost, and schedule
- Preparing detailed correspondence and reports, including Policy and Procedures and engineering reports
- Communicating and documenting information relating to transportation engineering duties
- Utilizing office applications, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, taking minutes at meetings, and preparing meeting calendars
- Preparing technical correspondence and presentations
- Completing comprehensive reports
- Managing contracts, budgets and transportation projects
