Technical Coordinator

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Technical Coordinator in Sacramento, CA.

Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the development, approval, and implementation of policies and procedures related to contract management on architectural and engineering consultants working on the high-speed rail program, and project management activities related to the scope, schedule, budget, and strategic planning for contracts related to the Record of Decisions (ROD) and pre-construction delivery contracts
• Develop strategic delivery policies, procedures, and processes
• Formulate, approve and implement policies, procedures, processes, and related work breakdown structures for all strategic delivery functional areas
• Develop work plans, schedules, quality plans, and implementation plans
• Prepare technical reports, correspondence, and memorandum for decision-making
• Attend meetings, committees, task forces, and public forums in relation to contract procurement and contract management processes
• Complete contract administration duties and review documents, including submittals, requests for information, change orders, invoicing and payments, and correspondence
• Select and use computer-based processes to compile contract data and develop transportation-related state-of-the-art computer programs and procedures
• Provide oversight of the work of various consultants to ensure compliance with assigned work duties, document contract performance, and take corrective action when appropriate
• Review and develop proposals, various contracts, and project documents prepared by others
• Produce meeting minutes and maintain project and contract files
• Attend trainings and special reviews
• Handle telephone inquiries, attend public workshops, develop other staff, attend staff meetings, and interpret new project requirements
• Prepare and present information regarding various types of transportation engineering matters to the public
• Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related degree and 5 years of experience as a Field Engineer, Project Engineer, Assistant Construction Manager, or related occupation.

Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related degree with 2 years of experience in a related occupation. 

Position requires experience in the following:

1. Administration of engineering contracts, transportation facility planning, and design principles
2. Assessing all phases of transportation engineering duties
3. Project Management concepts, including creating timelines, milestones, and deadlines to direct and carry out transportation engineering duties
4. Ensuring projects are kept within scope, cost, and schedule
5. Preparing detailed correspondence and reports, including Policy and Procedures and engineering reports
6. Communicating and documenting information relating to transportation engineering duties
7. Utilizing office applications, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, taking minutes at meetings, and preparing meeting calendars
8. Preparing technical correspondence and presentations
9. Completing comprehensive reports
10. Managing contracts, budgets and transportation projects
