Job description

CREATE THE FUTURE OF TRAVEL WITH US

Whether it’s to visit the people closest to us, starting an exciting adventure, or a career-defining business trip, travel is an essential part of our lives. Yet we've all experienced the aches and pains of getting to our destination. Today, more than 4 billion airline passengers rely on technology that hasn't kept up with the expectations of the modern connected traveller.

That’s why we’ve started to rebuild the infrastructure that underpins the travel industry. We’re on a mission to unravel travel — simplifying systems and building the tools that will make the future of travel effortless.

We were part of Y Combinator S18's cohort and we are backed by Benchmark, Blossom, Index Ventures and Kima Ventures. A fantastic set of investors that has helped build some of the world's largest companies.

Our team in London is growing and we’re looking for talented people to join us on our journey.

IT AT DUFFEL

This is our first dedicated IT hire. As we scale, we need someone to own the technology that keeps our team productive, secure, and compliant.

We've invested in strong foundations with Google Workspace, Iru (formerly Kandji), Crowdstrike, and Cloudflare Zero Trust, but we need someone who can take ownership and build out an IT function that grows with the company. You'll work closely with our security and infrastructure engineering teams, and you'll have real influence over how we operate.

If you've done this at a startup before and are used to figuring things out and building processes from scratch, you'll feel comfortable in this role.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN YOU

  • Experience administering Google Workspace at a company level.
  • Hands-on experience managing a fleet of macOS endpoints using an MDM platform. We use Iru (formerly Kandji), but experience with Jamf or similar is equally relevant.
  • Familiarity with EDR tooling for endpoint security; we use CrowdStrike. You should be comfortable deploying, monitoring, and responding to alerts from tools like this.
  • Experience rolling out and maintaining SAML SSO with SCIM provisioning across SaaS applications. You understand the practical challenges of getting vendors to integrate cleanly with your IdP.
  • A track record of writing and maintaining IT policies for onboarding, offboarding, acceptable use, access reviews, and more, keeping them current as requirements evolve.
  • Experience working within compliance frameworks, particularly PCI DSS and SOC 2. You don’t need to be an auditor, but you should understand what these frameworks require from IT and be comfortable gathering evidence and maintaining controls.
  • Strong technical support skills. You’re effective at diagnosing unfamiliar problems, clear in your communication, and thoughtful when rolling out changes that affect the wider team.
  • Ideally, you’ve done all of this (or most of it) at a scaling startup. You’re comfortable working across a broad scope, moving at pace, and building systems that scale as the company grows.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Providing hardware and software support to all employees, including remote employees in the US, Europe, and India.
  • Owning identity and access management end to end, including SSO configuration, SCIM provisioning, joiners/movers/leavers processes, and periodic access reviews.
  • Managing our macOS fleet from procurement through to retirement. This includes provisioning, deployment, patching, device refreshes, and inventory tracking via Iru.
  • Owning the London office infrastructure, including networking, AV setup for meeting rooms, and CCTV.
  • Partnering with our security and infrastructure engineering teams to maintain PCI DSS compliance and support our SOC 2 Type 2 certification efforts.
  • Building and documenting IT processes and runbooks so that work is repeatable, auditable, and well documented.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US

Location: We are based in Shoreditch, London and have a hybrid work-from-home policy and require everyone to come to our office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Interview Process: Our interview process consists of three stages: a recruiter screen, a hiring manager interview, and a final stage interview. Background Checks: If you are successful, all offers will be pending satisfactory background checks (we partner with a third-party provider to do so) and employment references.

Why Join Duffel? We’re a growth-focused team that values open communication, diverse perspectives, and true ownership. We want you to feel empowered in your role, which is why every permanent employee becomes a company shareholder.

We are an equal opportunities employer. We believe that the key to our success is employing a diverse team, that's why recruitment decisions are only based on your experience and skills. We value your ability to problem solve and build amazing things so we welcome applications for everyone — regardless of age, sex, disability, sexual orientation, race, religion or belief.
