Overview The Staff Accountant Payroll will be responsible for accounting for our largest and most valuable asset; our associates. This role provides significant insight into the operating retail business of Foot Locker EMEA and focuses on the accounting for Payroll related expenses across 15 countries. By taking initiative and collaborating with other departments you will have the ability to influence and make a difference. Responsibilities Monthly closing activities – Prepare month end payroll journals, accruals for employee cost (commissions, overtime, vacation and other) and ensuring an accurate P&L and Balance sheet Reconciling the Balance sheet accounts and performing variance analytics Prepare for internal and external audits Collaborate with other teams including: Payroll operations to resolve outstanding issues on our Balance sheet Wage analysis to identify any discrepancies in the P&L accounts Banking to assist in identifying payments relating to payroll Human resources because everything we do starts with them Support and participate in a variety of ad hoc projects Qualifications HBO / Masters / Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or country equivalent education At least 1 to 3 years related work experience Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and data smart mindset Excellent analytical skills Fluent in English (verbal & written) Clear and effective communication skills General understanding of payslips / payroll process is advantageous.
