Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, the lab technician is expected to ensure quality standards are met and are to continuously monitor and improve the product to meet Company and regulatory standards. This role requires daily testing (microbiological, compositional, keeping quality), participation in and knowledge of HACCP & SQF verification activities, record keeping, and inspection procedures.

Salary : $24.58/hour
Shift premium night : 0.85$ / hour
Afternoon premium : 0.75$ / hour
30 hours a week, on any shifts

What you will take ownership of on a daily basis:
Thoroughly testing all samples from production within required timelines;
Performing chemical and microbiological analyses of products and accurately documenting all results;
Carefully and accurately interpreting all data and test results;
Performing root cause analyses when issues are identified and gathering information from necessary parties;
Completing a thorough weekly environmental analysis, taking samples throughout the plant to ensure all sanitation standards are being met;
Participation in HACCP inspections;
Sanitization tasks as required;
Accurately calibrating lab equipment, closely following calibration procedures;
Administrative duties;
The profile that can truly own the role:
Food Science qualification and post-graduation degree and scientific knowledge to perform quality control activities, previous laboratory experience would be an asset.
Availability to work all shifts (Days, evenings, Nights, weekends, Holidays)
Applicant must always comply with Health and Safety policies including personal protective equipment (PPE), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and HACCP/SQF Requirements.
Perform product evaluation (taste, smell, appearance test, butterfat analysis), chemical and microbiological analysis. (ATP and Listeria Swabs)
Able to operate FOSS FTs equipment and can perform necessary maintenance and repair when necessary. Applicant must be able to perform necessary calibrations on applicable equipment.
