We are seeking a Packaging Maintenance Supervisor for our First Quality Baby Products site located in Macon, GA. This position will be responsible for supervising, directing, and coordinating the training and work of all packaging maintenance personnel who maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and adjust the packaging end machinery, equipment, and components. As a working supervisor, this role is also responsible for operating and maintaining packaging equipment to ensure products are packed efficiently and meet quality standards.
Primary responsibilities include:
Observe all safety rules and always use proper safety equipment
Follow necessary GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations
Supervise, direct, and coordinate all Packaging processes and training of associates
Assign and monitor progress of assigned work or projects
Assist with troubleshooting of all machinery, equipment, and components when required
Manage change over documentation and set-ups
Manage equipment reliability
Share knowledge with team members to promote a high skill level in the group
Contact outside vendors for special projects when required
Prepare reports and updates in a clear and concise manner
Other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
High school diploma or equivalent required, higher education preferred
3-5 years of supervisory experience
Advanced knowledge of technology and mechanics
Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
Strong attention to detail
Working environment: The working conditions described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee will be working in manufacturing and warehouse conditions, which may or may not be temperature controlled. Overtime is required when necessary. Hearing protection is required. Must be able to work around moving equipment.
Physical requirements:
Ability to walk/stand the majority of an eight shift
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
Frequent use of hands
Frequent reaching overhead
Frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, and squatting
Frequent pushing and pulling with arms and legs throughout shift, including materials requiring up to 75lbs of force to maneuver
Constant light and firm grasping with hands throughout shift
Occasional climbing of steps
